Review summary

Good ports but the costs of both group tours or taxi fares have skyrocketed since pre-Covid. Always confirm your taxi or cab fare in advance. The places we went to had nice beaches and areas at port for shopping. Nelson's Dockyard was disappointing. People I interacted with on the islands were friendly and helpful. Royal Caribbean staff was outstanding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Best food I've had on a cruise ship

Onboard Activities

Exercise room was adequate. There was a hot tub in the fitness center but the only jet was in the center. Need to confine small children to hot tubs by the main pool. They hog up hot tubs everywhere but the fitness center.

Service and Staff

Waiters, cabin attendants, head waiter, customer service, cooks all excellent

Cabin / Stateroom

Guaranteed room 3704 was quiet and close to dining room. Other family had room on seventh floor with lots of noise due to kids running up and down hall and slamming doors.

Ship tip

2nd or 3rd floor room without a through hallway

Ports of call

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Hired private cab from Puerto Plata to sky lift to port. Good value. Ship docks at town so you can walk to town.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Wanted to go to a beach 3 miles away but the taxi fare was outrageous and charged per person. Went to beach one mile away.

St. John's, Antigua

Hired a cab. Much like St. Thomas, the rate was outrageous to go anywhere. We went to Nelson's Dockyard. The price one way has gone from $35 to $50 in two years. It was still cheaper than taking a tour. Galleon beach is pretty and has snorkeling. Nelson's Dockyard prices has gone from $8 to $15 in a year. It is way overpriced. You can read placards about the historical buildings, but they are all used as shops or restaurants now. In other words, you cannot tour the inside to see what they would have looked like 200 years ago. You are basically paying to look at shops.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Private cab. Good around the island tour. Good value. The beach off the water taxi pier is beautiful and sandy but no snorkeling.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

This is a weather dependent port. We had high winds and low 70s so the ocean was rough for swimming/snorkeling. The food was great.
