Review Summary
The Explorer is headed to an overdue shipyard refurbishment period. The passengers have taken their toll on her. Even so\, she was clean and the staff was the most attentive and friendly we have have in many years.Ship Experiences
Food and Dining
Very Good. We have seen a decline in food quality in the past few years...but dining experience on this trip was a return to what we hope for. The My Time Dining is great - we never waited to be seated more than 4 or 5 minutes. Great move by all of the cruiselines on this point.
Entertainment
This doesn't mean it wasn't good. For us\, it was average.
Service and Staff
Some of the most friendly and attentive staff we have had in many\, many years.
Ship Quality
She needs a rest period and some TLC. The Prominade is nice\, but gets very crowded. If the passenger load had been a younger crowd\, I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it as well.
Cabin / Stateroom
Average doesn't mean our expectation weren't met. Our room was always clean\, avereage size\, typical cruise ship decor. Our Stateroom Attendent was very good.
Pros: The very low level of photographer pressure and bar service pressure at the pool
