Overall it was a good cruise, but it needs a few adjustments.

Recommends Explorer of the Seas? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
Large oceanview room. very nice. Just no more mints/candy on your pillows.
Service and Staff
Staff was good, especially the guest relations.
Ship Quality
We took the same ship 2 years ago. Looked better than last time. Clean, easy to figure out. Not a problem to get anywhere.
Food and Dining
Food was bland. Less choices than before. Not a big variety either. Sushi was not real fish, tunafish from a can wrapped in rice. Not very tasty. Also a charge now for filet mignon for regular dinner, whereas before it was free. Those who had "My time dining" had problems with staff. They always asked if you had reservations and in some cases some people were refused dinner if they had no reservations. Some were told to come back in 2 hours. Seems like "my time" is more like "their time" and that was disappointing. They should coordinate it better somehow.
Production shows were lame. Headliner shows were decent. Not much glitz nowadays. Almost had a riot for the ice show. They used to give out tickets for the show, but they stopped it on this cruise. People lined up almost 2 hours before to get in, and then when the doors opened, many cut in line, pushed and ran in to get seats. Should go back to handing out tickets. It was a very unhealthy situation and even some crew members got scared.
Samana, Dominican Republic

Don't Miss: Bike,hike,kayak tour
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
Nice private island, but very rocky bottom. Wear water shoes! It really hurt our feet!
Don't Miss: Ziplining
Basseterre, St. Kitts
Ship pulls into a shopping mall. Be prepared to spend money.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Went to St. John instead and did not have much time in St. Thomas
