The ship itself was a sight to behold, very well laid out (with the exception of having to go through a smokey casino to get to the dinning room). The Bayonne Port was dingy but on-board processing was very smooth. The same when leaving the ship at the end of the cruise. Sea days leaving NJ were cool and the pool water was even cooler. The ports visited were awesome (St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Dominica, Barbados, Antigua, St. Kitts). Originally also had Tortola but it was removed from the itinerary leaving us with 3 boring sea days at the end of the cruise. Some passengers liked this but we'll never sail another cruise with 3 b2b sea days. RCI doesn't allow alcohol to be brought on board and they soak you with the prices they charge for a drink. And the drink prices seemed to change daily!!! The shows were pretty good expecially the ice skating shows. The cruise director staff & activities were so-so. Johnny Rockets was a fun time and the food was super. Overall food was bland in the MDR & the Windjammer. In the WJ the food at times appeared to be what was left over from the previous day.
So-So Cruise but any cruise is good!
Sail Date: April 01, 2009
This was our 7th cruise since 2004 & one can see the difference in services & food over the last 3 years. We'll cruise again but not every year as we have ben doing. .
Pros: Ship was awesome. First tiime on a ship this size
Cons: Obvious cut backs in services, food bland, CD staff & activities lacking, drink prices outrageous.
