Great Time

Sail Date: August 01, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Inside

We sailed on this ship Aug 6-15 2009.

The ship is everything that is shown - plus some.

We liked the fact that there was an adult pool, but felt that there should be some music piped in there since the live music from the other pools couldnt be heard.

I felt ( and heard manyothers say the same thing) that the food in the windjammer was the same thing every day. 9 days is a long time and they should change it up a little. We found that the sushi at dinner time was not really sushi...lol. One roll had ham and eggs in it!

They have done away with the Midnight buffet as well as the Chocolate buffet. That was a bit disappointing. However, there was Caribbean night where they had a bufet on the top deck at 11:30 as well as a lunch BBQ at the pool when we left San Juan. this was fabulous

Johnny Rockets was TERRIBLE

Comparing the food to a RC cruise 5 years ago - I did feel that the quality and selection has gone down. Im NOT saying it was terrible, it was still very good - but not what it was 5 years ago. I'm sure that this has to do with economic times. Eat lunch in the dining room when you can - the salad Bar is INCREDIBLE. We also loved the deli that was open 24 hrs a day.

the ice show was spectacular

Pros: Staff, Cleanliness and Activies

Cons: food never changed in Windjammer

Recommends Explorer of the Seas? Yes!

Service and Staff
There was not one staff member that wasnt helpful. Very satisfied
Cabin / Stateroom
Ship Quality
It was a great ship - very clean
Food and Dining
not the same quality and variety as 5 years ago
Entertainment
2 of the comedians were not funny. The ice show was the best show all week
