Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This was our first cruise and we really enjoyed it. We had a balcony cabin on the 9th deck and it had more room than we anticipated. The pool area was clean and beautiful and there was always plenty of chairs available for all. Staff was polite and helpful at all times. We enjoyed the dinners in the dining room every night and thought the food was very good. We were never at a loss for something to do and usually had a hard time deciding. Quiet spots were easy to find in all of the lounges and decks. I would recommend this cruise to everyone.

Pros: The ship was beautiful and had something for everyone to do

Cons: Could use a few more elevators the wait for one can be long.

Recommends Explorer of the Seas? Yes!

There is something for everyone at all times on this ship.
Ship Quality
Ship size is big but the maps found near all elevators make it easy to find your way. We found the ship very clean and beautiful. As stated the elevators were slow but we did not mind taking the stairs.
Food and Dining
We enjoyed all of our choices of food. We found the buffet a good solution for lunch and they always had a wide choice of food and the salads were wonderful. We choose main seating and sometimes it was a little bit of a rush to get to dinner after spending the day in a port. Our servers were fun and efficient we enjoyed having dinner with them every evening.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a balcony cabin and it was wonderful. Our room steward was right on top of everything and our room was always spotless. Our bed was one of the most comfortable I had ever slept in that wasn't my own. My husband has a bad back and he had no problem the whole week.
Service and Staff
We found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful at all times. Always ready with a smile.
