Fantastic Alaskan cruise by tprand424

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

You can't go wrong with an Alaskan cruise. The Eurodam is a great choice, as it has a covered pool so you can actually go swimming when it is cooler and raining outside. The ship is in immaculate condition, and the changes from drydock were obvious (still could smell fresh carpet and paint). Each room has a large library of free ondemand movies to watch, free fruit, a bathtub in the bathroom. The entertainment on Eurodam is sparse, but what they do offer is top notch. Keep in mind that you don't want to use Holland America if you are into the party scene, the cruise ship was fairly quiet. The kids program wasn't the most organized, but the kids still enjoyed it, especially the Xbox room.

Alaska was the trip of a lifetime. by Presscheck

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

One regret is that we didn't purchase any "Wild caught, fresh frozen, Alaskan King Salmon" to have shipped home on our timeline. No kidding, the bangers aboard the Eurodam were EXCELLENT and I wish I could have purchased some of those. Wonderful ship. By the time they conducted the safety drill, I already had a firm grasp of how to get around anywhere aboard. The crew was very friendly and attentive. If I get back to Ketchikan I'd like to tour the fiords by plane. We've been on a Caribbean cruise with a different cruise line since Alaska and my wife & I both agree we liked the Eurodam AND her crew better than our first and only experience with R.C.

Glaciers & Whales by genekimes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Although the weather was cold and rainy, the excursions in the ports were very interesting. Best port was not a port but cruising around Glacier Bay.

Fantastic crew! by kellyberry67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

To the embarkation herd control personnel, our greeting by Myrby and Sarah in the Neptune lounge our greeting from Argo, and the entire staff in the dining area. KUDOS! The only thing that could have made our crew staff any better was to just have a longer cruise. Holland has made excellent decisions in their staffung positions! My only complaint, and I really dont want it to be a complaint as it was just the least favorite part of the trip was the main dining. The food was mediocre at best but the customer service was superb! Good job Denny as our server there! The Entertainers, WOW! professionals for sure! The casino was a great place to have a few hours of good entertainment because the staff was fantastic once again. This has been my only real cruise outside of the USN and your staff made it grand!

Breathtaking, scenic Alaskan Cruise by Cruiser46124884

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Everything from the room to the dining and entertaInment was superb. The staff was exceptionally friendly and most helpful with questions of where we were, and how to get where we wanted toi go. Our only complaint was that we thought we had to sign up for the shore excursions before sailing, but could have waited to board and then picked which ones we wanted to attend. we went on one, but would rather have gone elsewhere but had already paid the fee and couldn't cancel.

This cruise was excellent. The ship was excellent in most ways and scenery magnificent. by hamburgbob

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall we loved the trip. The ship was up to date, very clean and crew was excellent. We loved all the entertainment. Alaska in general is magnificent. Sitka was a bit less interesting. We loved the Deadliest Catch crab boat experience. Sounds a bit cheesy but was well done and interesting. We did not do it but regretted not spending the money to take the helicopter ride to the Mendenhall Glacier. However we did the whale watching and saw many whales and the glacier from the visitor center.

Loved our Vacatiion! by imrmb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Loved our cruise! Dining selections for included price could be better. It was either one dining room or the crowded Lido deck or pizza, and hour long waits for hamburgers and hot dogs. They also closed the main dining room at lunch time ( some meeting) when it was a day at sea... lots of folks angry about that. Victoria is a beautiful city, just not enough time there. Overall, we loved everything else.

Alaska is a great cruise! by halk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We have nearly 200 days on Holland America and they are our go-to cruise line at this point. You get what you pay for, HAL delivers pretty good value for the dollar. If you don't like a lot of noise, HAL is a good place to go. Younger people with young families might like sister ships on Carnival better, but at our age (60s) we really like the cruising environment they provide. All cruise lines try hard to provide great customer service on board. HAL seems to have really mastered it without being overbearing. We especially like the food variety in Lido and often at lunch go to the Asian food station. Remember, many of the staff on board are from Asia so they know how to cook Asian! Sometimes we like to be less formal and eat dinner in Lido as well. Lido is a buffet restaurant and is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and later evening "snacks" as well. I say snacks but it's really like another dinner serving.

Great Girls Weekend by SIpema

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Ship had been recently renovated we heard, we were pleased with our room. Lots of storage and the bathroom was bigger than I expected (it had a tub). Food was good, Dive-In burgers were amazing. Pizza on the back deck was also very good. We had a great time.

All went well on this Panama Canal Cruise on the Eurodam by jimanddi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

We were pleased with this cruise, as the staff on board was uniformly pleasant and efficient. The captain in particular was engaging, with the 'meet the captain' event really fun! Probably not the most stellar list of ports to call on, but there is enough there to keep things interesting. A reasonably priced cruise that I'm happy to have taken!

Lovely Sailing by lfiddler5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was a wonderful week. Holland made the boarding and unloading painless. The Crows Nest was beautiful and well worth a visit upstairs. The Lido Deck food was tasty and had plenty of choices. The dueling pianos and Lincoln Center Center Stage was phenomenal. The DR stop was nice but taxis off property VERY Expensive. Nothing much to do there excepy shop so I was disappointed whn the taxis to get to the best DR beaches were so expensive. Puerto Rico was great. The shopping was plentiful and it was great to see our southern neighbors recovering nicely from Maria. Saint Maarten was wonderful and the beaches stunning. It was sad to still see so much damage there that Maria left in her wake. Didn't hear much about Saint Maarten's hurricane Maria damage but from the looks they are still suffering. However, the water and beaches were as beautiful as ever. Half Moon Cay was my favorite stop! Despite being there before I always find this one of my favorites. The water is enchanting. The sand is soft and powdery. Only complaint....sell buckets of beer, not just singles! All and all a lovely week.
