Good cruise ..in spite of by iathoma8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

Good cruise. Due to Azipod issue, we were late leaving Kona, skipped Ensenada, and missed Victoria due to spending another day in San Diego . But Captain and crew made it a nice trip.

Ship Ride to No where! by Elvis1952

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

This cruise was planned over a year ago because of it itinerary and to go on it and miss 4 ports. Not acceptable, and given very little in compensation. This I believe with all the other disappointing food and entertainment. We will not be going on Holland America again.

Too many sea days. by carrie12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

This was the fourth cruise on Holland America and by far the worst experience. We would think twice before booking again. On this trip, we realized that the guest experience wasn't as important as their profits.

Where’s the Service? by robinfandfamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Mexico

So much potential for this boat, but it’s so poorly executed in the service department it just ruined it. It was simply a sad disappointment.

Calm Seas and Sunny Skies by fndannen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

Eurodam: Big, newer, clean, comfortable ship for big water of Pacific. Crew and staff outstanding. Minimal miscues in food and service. Felt a little crowded, but our previous cruises have been on smaller ships with fewer passengers.

Good getaway by deeiannucci

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

We were not aware that Holland America was a "floating Nursing Home". I think passengers should be warned prior to booking that many guests are quite elderly requiring wheelchairs, oxygen etc.

Enjoyed our cruise to Hawaii on the Eurodam. by Corcini

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

This was the longest cruise we've taken at 17 days. My wife was apprehensive, but now admits it was fine for her. We enjoyed an abundance of good weather with only 2 days of 20+ft. seas. The other 15 days were in moderate to calm seas. We have booked Alaska for the summer and Norway for next. We were awarded 4 Star Mariner pins the last day of this cruise.

17 Day Hawaii Cruise from San Diego by jwb0817

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

A total waste of time and money. The entire purpose of the trip was so my companion could see 5 different ports in Hawaii, since she had never been to the islands. The 17 day cruise was suppose to stop at 5 different ports. Due to weather, we could only stop at 2 and the weather wasn't the best on those days. We were only able to lay in the sun on deck one day. Thank god we got out early between 1000-1200, because by 1500 it was cloudy, windy, and raining. I realize the weather is unpredictable, however the promised itinerary wasn't remotely fulfilled. Holland America only offered $100 per person credit off of "certain purchases" on ship and a 15% discount for a future cruise purchase. We did not purchase the internet package, however we heard people complaining profusely over the terrible connection and the cost of the package. One person said she had to upgrade to the daily rate of $29.95 in order to check her email. The is the premium service which should also include streaming.

A Long Boat Trip For Naught by rpconover

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Hawaii

The ship was very nice. The crew was very nice and service was very good. The determining factor on this cruise was the weather; it started off bad and stayed bad. We had only 3 1/2 days of sunshine on the entire 17 day cruise. Don't do this cruise if you want to guarantee that you will see the Hawaii that you paid to see. Don't do this cruise if you don't care for at-sea days. If you are a young person, don't do this cruise as it is tailored to senior citizens. One item of note, we did get an on-board credit of $100 per person and a 15% credit of our base cruise price to be used towards a future cruise in 2019/2020. We also were credited for the missed excursions and ports but have not seen this credit show up on our charge yet and have not yet heard back from Holland America after an inquiry as to when this will happen.

Our 9th cruise on HAL... by lowejazz

Sail date: /
Ship: Eurodam

Our 9th cruise on HAL so no surprises except the very poor entertainment in the big room up forward. We expected the usual singers and dancers doing 2 or 3 broadway type shows on this 17 day cruise. Instead we got one comedian, a clarinet player, a guitar player ... all talented, but HAL is obviously chasing the bucks by eliminating the singers & dancers. VERY DISAPPOINTING. So despite being a 4 star Mariner with a few perks, we’ll cruise on Princess, which still has fantastic entertainment.

Our first time on HAL,... by finsup01

Sail date: /
Ship: Eurodam

Our first time on HAL, 17 cruises on other lines. Cruise was a bust because of missed ports. As for HAL — most on board recognize we are in the later innings of a nine inning game. Most want to play the final innings with style, grace and dignity. They will have a very nice time on HAL. Others, like us, live with the allusion that we have at least one more head first slide into home. We may be better suited for another cruise line, but we would certainly consider HAL again under the right circumstances.

ROOM SERVICE and CLEANING CREWS:... by shoggie

Sail date: /
Ship: Eurodam

ROOM SERVICE and CLEANING CREWS: Very cordial and well trained. MEALS: good, but they missed the flavor of Mexico, the pazole soup, carne assada and tacos didn’t look or taste like the real deal. CABIN: Spacious, clean. Ship needs a bit of remodeling, but it’s well maintained. BLACK LABEL STUDIO: Overpriced for a simple 10-15 minutes photo session. When I asked if they could print in the new metal printing and offer to pay for the difference, the photographer refused to even ask his manager if it was possible if I didn’t buy at least 3 photos, so I asked for the price to buy the digital version and was offered $300 por 1 digital photo. Seriously? Please post your prices, your crew kept changing subject when asked for price until next day. We told your photo crew that we didn’t want to pay $400 for a few photos and they said “no, you won’t pay even close to that”, if we would know that we would be charged $150/per photo, we would NEVER accepted the “free” photo sitting. We bought 1 photo only because was our 20th anniversary. EMBARKATION TIME (Matzalan): We were told to be back by 5:30PM. 5PM we started to receive calls from a number, we decided to answer until 5:15PM and it was the a lady from the ship crew asking if we were arriving because we were the only ones missing. We kindly explained that we would be there 5:30PM as requested by the crew and she kept reminding us of the time and that they crew was only waiting for us. At 5:29PM we entered the ship but we felt like children been reprimanded for been “on time”. FREE SHOWER (?): We were supposed to desembarke in San Diego at 9 AM so at 8:20AM I went to our Varandah to get my husband’s sandal that was drying outside and for my surprise I was greeted with a shower of dirty water falling from a floor above ours. I got totally soaked and had to get another shower which made us late for breakfast and disembarkation. You should at least announce to your passengers that you will be cleaning the windows a day before.
