Beautiful ship, superb cabin and restaurant crew, brilliant food, great itinerary, what's not to like? Not much at all is the answer, although mother nature did her best to spoil the cruise for us! High winds for most of the time (it was late November after all) meant that the ship was uncomfortable at times and there were some decidedly unhappy-looking guests on board! The worst thing was that the seas were too rough for us to land in The Bahamas and, later, in Grand Cayman. This meant of course that we had 2 extra days at sea in the rough conditions instead of exploring those 2 beautiful islands. We were very disappointed, but clearly there was nothing that the company could reasonably do about it. What it did show was that the ship didn't have much to offer in terms of entertainment when we needed to while away the extra hours at sea, unless we wanted to spend the time learning how to lose money in the casino..... There seems to be a real obsession with gambling! Add to all this the fact that we had an emergency fire alarm - eventually traced to a smoking light fitting in a crew cabin - and had to return to our cabins and be ready in case we had to muster at our lifeboat stations. Then on another day the crew spotted a life raft in the water and turned the ship round, went as close as they could get to it, then launched one of the tenders to go and retrieve it. Luckily there was no-one inside it. Final negative was the captain himself who seemed unable to understand the passengers' disappointment at missing scheduled calls due to weather, and made very unfunny jokes about it, which went down like the Titanic! He seemed more interested in his upcoming holiday that he insisted in talking about in great detail over the pa system, rather than in having any empathy with the disappointed guests.                                               We did enjoy the cruise though, and will most certainly go again with HA and hope for better weather. The cabin crew were wonderful, food was generally of a very high standard and the vast majority of the restaurant staff were brilliant. The public areas of the ship were beautifully maintained and were kept sparkling all the time. Finally, some of the entertainment was first class; a classical music duo (violin and piano) were excellent and the BB King Blues Club band were simply sensational, just fantastic. Oh, and the embarkation and disembarkation process was slick and efficient, much better than Cunard were on our previous cruise.
