This was our 5th cruise with the Holland America Line. We continue to be amazed at the genuine friendliness of the crew. They truly want to make the guests happy. The ship was immaculate and well-designed. We hadn't cruised for awhile, and did feel the motion of the ship, especially in our stateroom on the top deck. Next time, we'll book a stateroom on a lower deck and try the prescription "behind the ear" patch. We both enjoyed pampering ourselves with massages from the Greenhouse Spa Staff. We are looking forward to our next cruise in a year or two!

Food and Dining

We tried the Italian and the Asian Fusion restaurants where you can dine at no extra cost. We skipped the Pinnacle Grill which is extra--no need to pay extra when the food in all the "regular" restaurants is wonderfully prepared and so delicious!!

Entertainment

The entertainment was great! The shows were outstanding. The ship's entertainers were excellent and they also had a Russian acrobatic couple, a comedian, and a husband and wife singing duo. All were very, very good.

The crew is there to make your cruise the best ever. All you have to do is let them know what you need.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our stateroom was nice, but still small. The balcony could fit one chair or two people standing. We booked the VT category-not a specific cabin. Next time, I will book the specific cabin.

We went on the Paradise Tram and St. Peter's Greathouse tour. The gardens at the house were lovely and had a very good boardwalk through them. The house itself is beautiful and the views everywhere were breathtaking.

The swimming was great! The Eco Lagoon Cruise was OK. It was too rough to go out into the open sea, so we were limited in what we could see through the glass bottom of the boat. The seniors on our trip did not enjoy getting sprayed by the water, but we thought it just added to the enjoyment of the trip!
Don't Miss: swimming and walking along the beach

We took the island tour that included the historical museum. It was very informative. The damage from Hurricane Ike is still evident.

We did the rain forest drive. It was beautiful and our guide was very knowledgeable. We did get some rain, but that is to be expected in a rain forest!

Pros: the food and the crew

Cons: the extra cost for cabanas on board the ship

Recommends Eurodam? Yes!
