Review summary

Worst cruise ever. I've been on cruises where I got norovirus and they were better than this.

Embarkation

Forget being a diamond plus loyalty member. No benefits any more. Just join the mobs and wait in line. Per usual, the rooms aren't available till after 1:30 and they direct you to the Windgammer. It was total full with no where to sit. Ridiculous.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Chops was the only specialty option and was ok steakhouse fare. Dining room for dinners was overcrowded, cold or badly prepared food. Half my meals were pizza because it was the only consistently good option. Not nearly the staff needed to provide past level of service. RCL has definitely cut costs.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Staff reductions limited the activities offered. Reduced to trivia and karaoke.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
No support from loyality staff which had greatly reduced hours and very little presence in the clubs.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Common areas showed signs of disrepair and saw little to no cleaning unlike past cruises. Public restrooms near the dining room was constantly floored by backed up toilets and quite aweful. The fact that 9 out of 10 from our group tested positive for Covid within 48 hours of leaving the ship should be considered ridiculous with regard to safety cleaning. Our room steward never cleaned the bathroom. She left clean towels. The whole level of service showed decline from the two previous cruises (both of which occurred in the last 12 months).

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Handicapped cabin was very spacious, but peeling paint and no refrigerator (told it broke and would not be replaced) did not leave good impression.

Ship tip

Change the booking to a later date and hope RCL stops pinching pennies and hires a full crew to provide the level of service and cleaning needed on fully booked ships otherwise you will have a frustrating trip and probably get Covid!

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

Excursion was to be a two hour bus tour. Tour leader showed up 20 minutes late and then informed us we would park in two spots and she would narrated as we walked. It was supposed to be handicapped tour. Those that could walk saw somethings but the rest of the bus saw abandoned buildings while we sat on the bus.
