Review summary

This was a great getaway cruise. While small and older, Enchantment of the Seas has amazing charm and is very well kept. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I hope we get the opportunity to sail on her again.

Embarkation

It was amazing. The option for Expedited Arrival/Check-in worked flawlessly!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We went to Chops for embarkation day lunch. It was great food and nice to not be in the buffet with the crowd. I would say it was worth the money and would consider doing it again. The food in the main dining room was wonderful as usual. The French Onion soup was not as good as the one on Liberty of the Seas but it was still a nice treat. Park Cafe in the solarium was a great place for food. The pizza and roast beef sandwiches were tasty!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Its a smaller ship so there is less to do than on the big ships when it comes to amenities but we were still able to keep ourselves busy. We prefer to relax on sea days anyways. We went to a few of the planned activities and they were very entertaining.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I loved our cruise director Bobby. I really hope to have him again! The entertainment on the ship was as good as any of the entertainment on the big ships, just in smaller venues.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We were always greeted with a smile. We loved our room steward Tony. He was always able to help us with anything we asked. The only service problem we had was that our order for an early continental breakfast was not picked up and we had to call it in. They got it to us super fast and we were not late to our very early excursion.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I loved this ship. Don''t get me wrong, it is smaller and older but from what we saw it was very well maintained. The decor was great and the ship had amazing charm. I can''t wait to sail on it again.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Like all inside state rooms it was small. We did not have any problems with the cleanliness/tidiness of the room. Nothing was in disrepair. The location was great. Because it was towards the front and off of the main hallway it was super quiet. The only issue we had with the room was the noise from the lines being let out when pulling into port. While quite noisy, this didn''t bother us because we were already awake getting ready for our excursions.

Ship tip

There are a lot of reviews out there complaining about the age and size of the ship. Yes, its old and small but it has amazing charm. I would definintely sail again!

Ports of call

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

5 out of 5
I was worried about this port after reading some reviews. However, I love Mayan Ruins and this is the best port to go to see some of the biggest and most beautiful ruins in Mexico. It is now one of my favorite ports.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Lots to do like always. We went and tried Discover Scuba and loved it so much that we are now working on our Open Water Certification. I can't wait to go back and scuba dive as a certified diver.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We disembarked with self-assist. They lined everyone up in the theater. It could have been super unorganized but they managed it perfectly. They stopped any line jumping. Not sure why, but the port was mixing birth certificate and passport parties together. Normally the passport parties have their own lines that move much faster. I hope that was just a one time thing that we ran into.

So glad you liked the Cruise Director! I work as a Recreation Director myself, so if I have your CD next year, I'd be curious to see how he does my job!

It’s a great ship! Probably not the best for families with young children. But perfect for couples.

Although the ship doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the MEGA ships, we really loved it. The crew was awesome and I think it's because they are not so overworked like on the larger ships
