We will probably not cruise again. This was our first cruise and tried to talk to agent about another cruise to give cruising and Royal Caribbean another try. Due to agents treatment of us, we will not cruise Royal Caribbean again.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Due to weather, did not embark until 9 hours after scheduled time. And did not leave until 24 hours after scheduled departure. 2600 people wait in one room for group number to be called, Very stuffy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining room exceptional. Windjammer buffet no variety and quality not good, very small for 2600 passengers, could not find table at times, layout is poor.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Solarium pool too cold and hot tubs overcrowded. Upper deck with walking track closed for 2 days. Activities limited or overcrowded for 2600 passengers.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
One nightly show cancelled due to technical difficulties. Performers were average, lip synced performances. Piano bar musician was okay. Could not get into 2 other shows due to limited seating after arriving 20 minutes early each time. Adult only shows allowed kids. Did not go to late DJ due to type of music played. Not many options.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Main dining room staff and room steward exceptional! Most staff greeted you and friendly. Representative at Next Cruise desk is reason I did not rank 5 stars. He was very rude and would not answer questions or try to help us with next cruise as this was our first cruise. Discounts posted at his desk and when asked about them he would not explain. Entertainment director was great and did his best to keep passengers entertained.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Ship is out dated. Only 3 freestyle coke machines on entire deck with 2 right next to each other. Due to late arrival from previous cruise, ship was not cleaned well. Cabin toilet had mold and mirror was smudged and handprints all over it. Paint peeling, dings in walls and doors, and rusted metal throughout ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Bathroom was extremely small, shower especially. Husband is over 6 foot tall and hard time showering. Bed was uncomfortable. Mold in toilet, mirrors smudged, only 2 electrical outlets in entire room and inconveniently located, chair in front of closet did allow full access to closet, drawers opened and slammed shut continuously during rough seas, had to climb out of bed due to bed on front of desk/drawers, TV remote taped and did not work 75% of time, TV stations "no signal" about 60% of time, walls very thin.
Good points. As for weather that's an issue for God. But it must have been an unusual sailing because I've never not been able to find a seat in the theater. I agree as well the shows on this ship are amateurish.
The interior of the ship is rather elegant and well decorated. The exterior is in bad shape. I'm not sure how one can say the buffet lacked variety. A ton of options for every meal. Now much of the food is not well prepared. But there is variety
Negative reviews on a ship I’m going to sail on later in the year are a little nail biting. I do try to take comments, good and bad with a grain of salt. For instance, I read reviews on Liberty, which ranged great to poor, then went on our cruise and it was awesome.
20+ years ago went on a Carnival cruise with horrible weather with a ship full of college spring breakers (and I was fresh out of college), but u can imagine my review-staff even sea sick, entertainment couldn’t get on since ports closed, on ship entertainment/game staff too sick to entertain, dining rooms empty because, well, you know. Sometimes circumstances can alter opinions-bad weather can cause rough seas, missed ports...etc.
I’m so sorry the reviewer had a rough time. I hope you will try again and hope the next one is fabulous! Lots of booking companies to choose from!
We were on the Enchantment of the Seas last November and thoroughly enjoyed the ship. The Windjammer Marketplace buffet had one of the best buffets after 19 cruises. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the mega ships, but the employees and crew were exceptional
Definitely sounds like cruising isn’t for you. Most love it, but it’s not for everyone. Ships can be delayed or diverted for a variety of reasons - weather, medical, mechanical, political or other issues. Hopefully you had a good travel policy that covered any additional costs for the delays and compensated you for any missed ports or itinerary changes.
