Review summary

We were traveling as a family of 7. Meeting everyone's interests can be difficult when the age of the kids range from 21-4 years of age. The cruise was a good option for us and we all had a fabulous time. The entertainment was great, the food and service were top notch. We kept our expectations low on the ports, mostly due to the reports we had regarding the seaweed. But we all had a great time!! The beaches were clean and though the sellers were selling and kind "No thank you" is all they need to walk away. People need to understand that the area is experiencing a longer than usual seaweed season. The government does NOT help in the collecting and cleaning of the beach. That is left to the locals, so they do the best they can. In Costa Maya, the workers of the beach clubs spend hours collecting the seaweed and run trucks up to 30 runs back and forth from the beach to the dump sites. Bottom line is they are doing the best they can to provide a nice, white sand, blue water experience for us travelers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We tried the buffet, the main dining room and Chops. We were very pleased with the quality of the food, the excellent service, and attention to cleanliness.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Due to wind the rock climbing option was not open. Other than that everyone enjoyed the pool activities, the scavenger hunts, the bingo games, the music trivia.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Truthfully, we weren't expecting much out of the shows. We were so wrong, the dancers were fabulous, talented, and danced through some choppy waters with a smile. As a musical family we loved the orchestra!! The Lionel Richie singer, sorry can't remember the name, was fantastic. Really...the entertainment was top notch!

Children's Programs

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! The Aquanauts team for the 3-6 year olds were so fun, giving, energetic. They worked their butts off to ensure out kids were safe and having fun!

Service and Staff

From the room Steward to the waiters, and general staff; everyone was professional, kind, and made us feel catered too.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There are some signs of wear to the ship, but overall the ship was lovely.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Comfy bed, clean room. There is some wear to the mirrors, but it was nothing that changed my views of the overall room.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

It's a simple fishing village. The port itself it quite modern, but it isn't Mexico. The port was built to cater to the cruisers and only allow those with sail passes to shop there. Outside of the port is Mexico. No frills, not modern, but worth our visit. People should expect great hospitality and a relaxing few hours on the beach. If you walk away from the beach strip you'll be in the village. We took a quick walk, very safe, it just gives us visitors a better view of the people and ports we visit. We hung out at Yaya's Beach Club and the family did a snorkel excursion with Doctor Dive. We were very satisfied with the service and our time there.

Cozumel, Mexico
