Review summary

We enjoyed our cruise very much due to the excellent staff, cleanliness, & overall fun & festive atmosphere. Our main purpose was to enjoy the ocean views & sunshine, so we didn't participate in onboard activities that limited us to being inside. We also didn't want to spend more for excursions or excessive drink packages. We thought the food was excellent & our service at mealtimes was the best we've ever had anywhere. We would've appreciated some quiet time in the pool area, but there was music &/or entertainment more often than not. We looked for other areas around the ship to just sit & appreciate the view & quiet.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The service was top-notch & we really liked our server, Mary! There was a delay getting to our cabin & also the cruise delayed leaving by 2 hrs., we made the best of it by hanging out in the lounge & on deck.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We enjoyed plenty of food & there was a good variety. The only complaint we would have regarding the drinks were that we paid for the soda pkg & the machines weren't always stocked with either ice or our beverage of choice. Also, there could've been more of the machines throughout the ship since they were only 24-oz cups & it wasn't always convenient to go to the Windjammer buffet area or the one in the middle of the ship.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't do any onboard activities other than sitting on Deck 9 by the pool. That got to be crowded & noisy, so we were looking for quiet areas throughout the cruise.

Entertainment

We didn't go to any shows.

Children's Programs

We didn't bring children or utilize any children's programs.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Mary was the 1st server we had when we boarded - excellent! She made sure we had what we needed & was always helpful when we saw her later. Our room steward, Cristano, was diligent in keeping our state room clean & well-stocked; very well-mannered & pleasant when we saw him. We also loved the inventive towel 'animals'! Our waiter, Ruperto, & asst. waiter, Swapnil, were amazing! They took care of us so completely & with such humor & attentiveness we looked forward to each & every evening meal. We also saw Swapnil in Windjammers & he made sure we had whatever we needed in there. He also let us know about the last evening's staff entertainment, so that we didn't miss out. That was so much fun along with the staff singing in the Main Dining Room our last evening. We requested a picture with both Ruperto & Swapnil, because they were 2 ppl we definitely wanted to remember as making our cruise fun & memorable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was always clean no matter the time of day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was very comfortable & clean every minute of the day. The bedding was wonderful to sleep on. Amazing how much storage there is in such a small place! We would've liked outlets next to the bed by the nightstands, but we made do with multiple outlet extenders we brought with us thanks to online information we came across.

Ship tip

Be prepared for 'add-ons' (drink pkgs, internet, automatic gratuities, etc.)

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
We only boarded/disembarked. No excursions.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
It was interesting, but very crowded & not very clean. An ok place to visit briefly, but we were ready to get back to the ship. No excursions.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

5 out of 5
We only went to the shops right by the ship, but everything was clean & well-spaced. We didn't do any excursions here either.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was very well-organized, quick, & efficient.
