Review summary

It did not seem to us that their employees were very happy and not properly trained. We moved two times at the pool because of smokers and the pool attendant said they we allowed to smoke. The drink waiter told us we did not have to move because smoking was not allowed around the pool after we had just asked a pool attendant if guest were allowed to smoke where were sitting. We only saw our room attendant 1 time during a 9 day cruise and that is only because we called his number for shampoo and cream rinse and he only brought us one bottle of cream rinse and told us shampoo was in the dispenser. We were on the same cruise last year a D1 balcony as this year and we saw our room attendant every day and never had to ask for shampoo and cream rinse. RC has cheapened their loyalist program so much this was the first time we did not book a return cruises while on board. WE are going to try a different cruise line since RC are not loyal to us and they have seriously diminished the quality of service provided in their effort to save money so I might as well switch to a cheaper cruise like Carnival. More bang for my buck. The mixed drinks were horrible and we had to check every receipt because they would charge us for drink of the day even when we ordered a beer. Bar service horrid. Bar tenders seemed to only want to wait on the single girls out of Baltimore. We stopped going to the bar tender in the Solarium because he hated white people, and I was afraid of him because seemed mean and hated to make frozen drinks. The wait staff bringing drinks around were great though.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food was good but again RC seems to have cut staff and the service suffered because of it.

Entertainment

Great.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Pool attendants gave out miss information about smoking. Bar staff were NOT friendly. There were certain bars that I just would not order frozen drinks from and NOT once did I get an umbrella with it. Customer service desk gave different answers to different people. Dining staff were great but over work. Only one person on the whole ship went above and beyond and that was the hostess at the Crown & Anchor cocktail party in the Viking Lounge every nite.

We only saw our room attendant once in nine days. NOT acceptable. Cabinet in the bathroom broke because it was old. The Shower curtain and shower had black mold and let water get on the floor with every shower. The TV had to be 20 years old and it never worked right but when we complained they brought us a new one.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Great Port. Wonderful shopping and sailing adventures. They love the ships to come to their Island.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

too much traffic and nothing to do and the people there just do not want people from the ships stopping there. .

Samana, Dominican Republic

REALLY you stopped there .... WHY.?? No one knows why any ship stops there. Someone must be paying someone off.

Pros: Entertainment was top notch

Cons: Bar drinks and service was awful

Recommends Enchantment of the Seas? No.
