Enchantment of the Seas

5 Night Western Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)

Sail Date: October 14, 2006

Ship: Enchantment of the Seas

Cabin Type: Oceanview

Review Summary

OK ship but not any better than Carnival. More sedate than Carnival but not as nice as Disney. Nice job on the renovation but overall the ship does still show its age a little.

Ship Experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining options limited between 9 pm and 11 pm if you don't go to the dining room (i.e. informal dining shuts down except for hot dogs between 9 and 11). The "fancy" restaurant, Chops, was not all that great and language was a problem with the wait staff.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Casino staff were friendly for the most part. Eastern European (e.g. Bolgaria, Romania) staff seemed disinterested. Often tables weren't bussed at the informal dining area and tables were scarce.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Tiny shower (but it is a cruise boat), no amenities... Pluses: quiet stateroom, good AC.

Ports Of Call

George Town, Grand Cayman

7-mile beach is great...Palm-something beach was free, quick waitstaff and cold beer. Shopping is good.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Pot smell everywhere. Nothing was a must-see that we saw (Dunn River Falls, Fern Valley). Think Cozumel, not Grand Cayman.

Pros: Bolero's Latin Club
