Sail Date: January 26, 2008

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Our stateroom was in disrepair--stain on carpet, caulking on window, "medicine" cabinet in bathroom wouldn't shut.
Lost pair of $300 prescription sun glasses because our room steward used them for the "towel animal" on our bed and we did not know the glasses he used was ours. we called lost and found and they returned call stating they were not found. we know exactly where we left them in our room-just didn't know they were ours.
We had an unexpected family death in Colorado (a 4 year old boy of one of our family members with us on the cruise). It took family in Colorado 26 calls over a 13 hour period to get word to us as he kept getting redirected to the wrong people with Royal Caribbean. At the last call he was told the desk would leave notes on our doors and call over the PA for an emergency, but that never happened.

Pros: Being with family

Cons: Caymen Islands cancelled due to rough water and tenders not able to get us to land and no alternative plan by the cruiseline

We did not get to stop here due to high winds and tender would not come to the boat. We felt we had 1/2 a cruise because this was the preferable port to stop (over Jamaica). There were no alternative plans for another port or whatever.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
We just wanted to walk and visit shops but had to endure endless people wanting to take us somewhere and they did not want "no" for an answer
