Review summary

As our trip approached, I watched negative reviews roll in about Enchanted Princess and was so worried having never sailed with them before. Thankfully, I didn’t find any of what the grumblers said to be true! This cruise had some of the best service I’ve ever experienced, and I think we got a great deal on our 14 day adventure! I would absolutely sail with Princess again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation at Ft. Lauderdale was quick and painless! We had our Medallions mailed to our house before the trip, so we breezed through embarkation and were able to board around 10:30 AM!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
BUFFET - Food was decent. The options were repetitive, but they were tasty! My main gripe about the buffet was that despite having hand sanitizing and hand washing stations, very few—if any—people washed their hands before entering. MDRs - We ate in 2/3 MDRs on our trip, and preferred Santorini over Amalfi. The food was good. It seemed to be a little hit or miss, but overall was enjoyable. For example, one night the menu listed a seafood dish with seared scallops and shrimp, but what arrived was a seafood-esque pot-pie. It wasn’t bad, but definitely not what I was expecting. CASUAL - We ate at Gigi’s and Oceanview Terrace. Both were delicious and well worth the minimal cover charge! SPECIALTY - Specialty dining was hands-down phenomenal. We ate at all except 360 and were outrageously impressed with all 3 spots (Sabatini’s, Crown Grille, and The Catch). The Catch was especially wonderful!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The main pools and hot tubs were very crowded, but my husband and I always found a spot to sit in the adults only section, The Retreat. We also enjoyed The Enclave in the spa. This was wonderful, however there is no limit to how many people can be in here at once, so it did become kind of awkwardly crowded at times.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We really enjoyed the game shows and music. Some of the performers were lackluster, but nothing terrible. One thing to note, the music on the ship is an odd selection. It almost seemed like someone plugged in an iPod from 2009 and decided to play that. Not what I was expecting.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
By far the best service I’ve ever experienced on a ship. If you have time, find Jino, who should now be at the pastry shop in the buffet.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship layout takes some getting used to as it’s not very intuitive. However, the app’s navigation feature was super helpful! Spaces were neat and well-maintained. There were always crew members cleaning or fixing things. The ship appears to be well taken care of!

Ports of call

Roseau, Dominica

4 out of 5
If you’re prone to motion sickness be sure to take some medicine before exploring the island! Driving around is intense because of the mountains and narrow roads. However, we spent the day exploring Titou Gorge and the sulphur hot springs and it was amazing!

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
By far my favorite port! This was our first time visiting and a lifelong dream, and it did not disappoint! Clean, safe and so welcoming! The beaches were gorgeous and it was so easy to get around independently.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Really loved St. Maarten! We docked on the Dutch side and had a beach excursion on the French side. The water was beautiful, but not as calm here. It was still lots of fun jumping in the clear blue waves!

Bridgetown, Barbados

3 out of 5
The beaches on Barbados are beautiful, however there are constantly people trying to sell you stuff (including drugs). Barbados did not feel as safe as the ports prior.

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
Another beautiful port where we stopped at a beach club. The beach itself was quite rocky, but the water was crystal clear!

Kralendijk, Bonaire

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the beach and got to see the salt flats and some flamingos, too!

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
I, personally, really love Old San Juan. We had fun exploring the two forts and then wandering around the shops.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disembarkation was a nightmare, but at no fault of Princess. NY port authority stopped processing passengers, so our disembarkation was delayed over an hour. This was not clearly communicated by Princess until my husband asked an officer and was then told about the situation. We sat in the theater for over an hour, and wish we had been informed of the delay sooner so we could have done other things.
