I loved sailing with Royal Carribean!! They’re by far my favorite cruise line and I’ve gone on three cruises with three different cruise lines before this one. The staff was amazing, everyone was always happy, it was a great atmosphere, I went during my spring break so there were a lot of young people which I loved, and all the activities and entertainments were always on time! It was great
The cruise ship was small and crowded. The pool was very tiny and it was hard to find a spot to sit hear it. The rooms staterooms were bigger than expected so that was a pleasant surprise. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The ports were OK, but no beaches were near then so you had to either do an excursion or take a cab to reach a beach in both Florida and Bahamas. Overall, the experience was OK, but the ship was just too crowded for my liking.
Overall great experience. For those cruisers who are used to large ships, don't be afraid to take this cruise. If you are people who like all the activities, excitement, casino and large spa - this is not for you. This ship gave us a quiet, wonderful cruise without all the commotion or large numbers of people
The only choice if you want to cruise to Cuba. Empress is very old and shows it. The staff and entertainment makes up for the shortcoming of the ship. I am not a late night person but made it past midnight many nights because of the entertainment on the ship.
The Empress of the sea was an older ship, and small. The dinning service was poor and at time very slow. I felt the staff were more like training. Not the usual service I've received from Royal Caribbean in previous cruises. The Drink Package were ridiculous high, just for soda & water. You were force to purchase a higher drink package in order to have water. Will probably sail on another ship in the future.
