Review summary
Disappointed in not going to Cuba but Royal Carribean was more than fare with compensation. Disappointed in not going to San Juan but again not RC’s fault. The cruise staff really did their best to entertain and make people happy. The ship is old and has no balcony rooms. I only agrees to this ship because I wanted to do to Cuba.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I’ve been on five cruises including this one and this was some of the best food I experienced in the dining room. Don’t need higher priced venue on this ship more than once.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Too old to be climbing walls. Many passengers were very disappointed in not going to San Juan which made the ‘At Sea’ days too many. The cruise director really put together some fun games for passengers and did her best. I went to two of the movies which I enjoyed and wish there were more.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment was the best I’ve experienced on a ship. The singers and dancers were exceptional. The comedians were funny.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The wait staff and cabin attendant were great.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship was clean and layout was fine. This is a very old ship that was built before balconies were included. I like the fact that the ship was smaller, 1800 passengers but I really missed a balcony. The price for a suite which did include a balcony was much higher than a regular room. I found our room small but there was sufficient storage.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Cabin was small but there was sufficient storage. The cabin was clean and the bedding was fine. There was no fridge. I would have preferred a balcony but the suite was around $2,000 more.
Ship tip
Eat in the dining room but makes reservation ahead of time,
This is not my idea of a real port. It is Royal Carribean’s own property but that said, they did a nice job. You can visit several restaurants and beaches without spending money for the water park.
Like Tortola a lot. Did not take an excursion but took a cab up to Sage Mountain and hiked to a lovely look out point. Then had a banana smoothie with Jim the proprietor of the restaurant/shop at the base of the hike.
Took an excursion to St. John for a day on our own and enjoyed it. We went back to St. Thomas and took a cab into town. Enjoyed walking around but too many aggressive jewelry pitches.
