A Lovely Cruise!

Sail Date: February 23, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

This is a darling Ship. It is not huge and new. It doesn't have an ice rink and 3 pools etc., but it is very comfortable. This ship has a special place in our hearts. We were engaged to be married on this ship five years ago, and it was nice to be back onboard. The ship has been refurbished and we did not feel like anything was lacking. Our room was nice, clean and the same size as any other larger or newer ship. The ship is very clean, as all the Royal Caribbean ships are and the food is wonderful! Its darling and the crew is very nice. There is nothing wrong with this ship per se, however, if you have cruised on the larger ships, you do notice a difference. That is not necessarily a bad thing.

Pros: Nothing is a 'far' walk...a smaller ship.

Cons: Once you've been on one of the bigger ships, it does seem small.

Recommends Empress of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Philipsburg, St. Maarten
We adore St. Maarten. The shopping is just wonderful, the beaches are terrific and the people are very nice. Phillipsburg is terrific. The water taxi is so convenient !
Don't Miss: Go out to The Sunset Beach Bar at Maho Bay and watch BIG jets land at Princess Juliana Airport as you enjoy a refreshing drink and maybe a burger! Its so exhilarating! LOTS and LOTS of fun!
Basseterre, St. Kitts
St. Kitts has changed a lot in the past few years. It has become much more 'commercialized' and now has tons of duty free shops. The locals have become very pushy and 'in your face'. We were very surprised.
Don't Miss: Try to do the tour of the island. You can't see much by walking.
