Great vacation for 20somethings!

No need to wait until you are older - Cruising was a terrific vacation getaway for the 20something crowd I went with on Empress of the Seas! For our group of 8, a cruise was the perfect compromise between an active island hopping adventure and a low key relaxing spa escape.

At our at sea days, we were able to lounge by the pool sipping the yummy drink of the day and take in a spa treatment or two to refresh. (We highly recommend the Stone Massage.) However, the at sea days also proved active for a few of us who ventured the Rock Climbing Wall, Fitness Center and Jog Track on the ship. Even on the day it was rainy, there was no lack of excitement. We were able to join in the putting tournament as well as hit the casino during the day for our hand in Texas Hold em, Craps, Blackjack and Roulette. Though novices at the casino, the dealers are more then happy to teach you the games and give you pointers!

Our Caribbean Destination days proved just as diverse, without the need to pack up all of your luggage and check into a new hotel for a new experience! In my world shopping and eating could be a sport, but one of the real highlights of the trip was a simple trip to the beach to hit the waves with body surfing and wave runners more traditional sporting activities.

All that action can really make you hungry! And once you smell the delicious flavors coming from the kitchen it tempts your stomach even more. There was no shortage of options for even the pickiest of eaters in our group - from atmospheres to cuisines, there was an alternative for everyone. I would definitely recommend the Dinning Room Service for dinner. The wait staff and chef selections enhanced the dining experience from appetizers to desserts.

Overall, the cruise was a wonderful vacation combining fun relaxing and active excursions to please our 20something group!

Pros: Seeing a variety of destinations without having to pack / unpack and check in / out of hotels!

Cons: There are so many interesting activites to do, you have to select your top choices to fit them in
