Ship: Empress of the Seas (RETIRED) 223 Reviewed: 7 years ago
Myself and my wife just got back from Bermuda on the Nordic Empress (6/8-6/15) and we had an awesome time. We left out of NYC which was amazing. The cruise director's staff gave us the "nickel tour" via the Hudson River. The rooms are a bit small but you make due with what you have. We were on the 7th floor and had an obstructed view - no big deal! The food was decent; some meals better than others. The wait staff on the Nordic Empress were fantastic. They always greeted you when you sat down for dinner. They were extremely professional and had a great sense of humor. A few of the nights they even sang and danced for us.Our room attendant was wonderful. He made some of the best "towel animals" you can imagine. The cruise director, Dan, and his staff were great. The entertainment was superb!!! Bermuda is a beautiful island. The only drawback is you spend 2 1/2 days in the Dockyard which does not have a lot to offer (other than the Bermuda Rumcake factory). What else can I say, this was a great cruise we have been on and plan on sailing on the Nordic Empress again next year.
