Trip of a life time!!

Sail Date: July 21, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Empress of the Seas was well kept and clean. The food was great and always a a great variety and very fresh vegetables and fruits. We enjoyed the pool deck area as a band played every day, the pool was great and drinks were super. There was always plenty to do and see. Each night there were two shows with a variety of singers, dancers and comedians. We went with a group of nine people ranging in ages from 7 years old to 76 years old, there was something for everyone to do at all times.

I would go again without hestitation. This was our best vacation experience ever.

Pros: The ship's crew dedicated staff for excellent customer service, the food, the activities, the pillow top beds.

Cons: The check out was quite slow.

Recommends Empress of the Seas (RETIRED) 223? Yes!

Ship Quality
This was not a huge ship which was great because we could run to our rooms or other places on the ship without a huge effort. The public areas were well maintained and clean. The decor was nice.
Food and Dining
We had an assigned waiter and assistant waiter nightly. It was nice to get to know them and they were great about remembering what we liked individually. The menu was super and very fresh. The dining room was elegant and very comfortable, each night had a signature entree that was great!
Service and Staff
The staff went over and above to make sure we were treated well.
Entertainment was wonderful and quite professional. The activies were so abundant we could not do everything.
Cabin / Stateroom
Rooms were a little small. The shower was sometimes a challenge as to its size. The room was quite comfortable, quiet and clean. The beds were very comfortable.
Children's Programs
Since we had two children in our party it was wonderful to have activities that suited their ages. They had great fun!
St. George's, Bermuda
Our time in this port was limited. I would have like to have had a least a day to spend exploring.
Hamilton, Bermuda
Fort Hamilton was a must see. I did not feel anything was a waste of time. It was all great. We did not dine on the island since our meals were so great on the ship.
