Best vacation ever!

Sail Date: July 14, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

Overall, the ship was very nice but a little smaller than we were expecting. I was disappointed at the size of the pool; there were only three jacuzzis, and they were always full.

Pros: Entertainment, food, port of call, friendly crew

Cons: Stateroom, pool, jacuzzi

Recommends Empress of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
This ship is a smaller ship and because of that, our stateroom was smaller than we expected. The public areas were generally very clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were a little disappointed with the size of our stateroom. It was quite a bit smaller than we were expecting. But with all of the activities on the ship and the ports of call, we really didn't spend that much time in it during the day. The cabin steward did a great job of keeping it clean and making sure we had our agendas each day and providing towels.
Food and Dining
Overall, the food was very good. We ate most of our meals in the Windjammer Cafe. It is buffet style, and the pizzaria was open until the early hours of the morning. I think our favorite thing was the frozen yogurt, and the soft drink package was also great.
Service and Staff
The staff was great. They were always willing to help. Often, when we ate breakfast, they would bring coffee and soft drinks to us. Our cabin steward and dining room waiters catered to our every need. The bar staff was always friendly and courteous.
Entertainment
The entertainment on the ship was out of this world. There was a show every night, and the cruise director always had fun activities scheduled during the day.
Hamilton, Bermuda
Hamilton is beautiful. The downtown area is always bustling. We visited the aquarium and the caves, both of which we highly recommend. Our only complaint is that most of the stores close by 5 PM. We are planning to go back to Bermuda in the future.
St. George's, Bermuda
This is a quaint little village, which takes one back through time. Fort St. Catherine was great, St. Peter's Church and the Unfinished Church.
