A Great Cruise for us!

Sail Date: November 09, 2006

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

While we had only a minor water problem, we know other passengers had major pluming problems and also a soot problem from the exhaust stacks from the ship contaminating their balconies

Pros: The shows, ports, and the food

Cons: Ship needs updating, possibly removed from the fleet

Recommends Empress of the Seas (RETIRED)? Yes!

Ship Quality
Public areas were nice for the most part. We liked the size of the ship and the number of people on the cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our stateroom worked well for us, it was smaller last the room we had on the Enchantment of the Seas.
Food and Dining
All food was very good, particularly dinners in the dining room. Lunch in the buffet could be improved.
Service and Staff
Great service from all of the staff we encountered on the cruise.
All activities and entertainment was outstanding. Only act on last night of cruise was average or below.
Castries, St. Lucia
Took another island tour. A number of beautiful views around the island. Not alot of historical things to see.
Don't Miss: Visit to Stony Hill plantation was very nice.
St. John's, Antigua
Took an island tour - it was nice. Alot of poverty, island not kept very well.
Basseterre, St. Kitts
While there is some poverty, most of the island is nice. The Brimstone Hill Fortress was nice
Don't Miss: We heard Frigate Bay was very nice
Oranjestad, Aruba
Probably the best port. Less poverty and best shopping. Attractions were also nice.
Don't Miss: Shipwreck of German Freighter in the Bay.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Took a tour of the island. Not alot of historical things to see, but island is fairly nice.
