Review summary

Thoroughly enjoyed this cruise since it was my first time to Alaska. My girlfriend has been many times so she filled me in on the best places to see and where to grab a yummy bite. Would probably cruise again and do some more tours. Enjoyed the train ride in Skagway too!

Embarkation

Shared a cabin with my best friend and another client who were both Elite (while I was not) and there were no places to sit when we arrived in the Elite section. Lots of return cruisers. Not a problem for me, but she would have liked to sit since she has a medical condition.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room was lovely. Our waiters, Valerio and Depak were great! So accommodating and always happy to see us. We enjoyed all our meals with them. The alternative restaurants were delicious and everyone in them were so pleasant and they made sure we enjoyed our meals. Especially enjoyed out nightly visits to the Vines wine bar where Daniel and Ryan were the BEST! They knew our favorite drinks and always made sure we had everything we needed. We met 2 other couples that we looked forward to sharing our stories with! Did not attend the buffets.

Service and Staff

Was dissappointed with our cabin steward, Alex. It seemed that he was so busy, I only saw him twice during the whole cruise. I am sure he was quite busy attending the other cabins, but his demeanor was a bit too aloof. Our cabins were always attended to and and no complaints there.

Ship tip

Be prepared to wait in some lines. Seems some day's the lines were longer than ususal, but understanding that the majority of the passengers were older and quite a few with walkers and wheelchairs. Just be patient.

Lovely place. Wished we had more time there. Took the Hop on, Hop off bus and enjoyed the Granville island. Would like to go back and stay for a few days to more. Lots of construction everywhere so traffic was crazy.
