great weather and sites, bad cruise line

Sail Date: June 01, 2012

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Suite

A little too young for cruising unless with a young family. Disembark early in Stockholm, the best city on the tour, where a 6 hour stop is a true injustice.

Pros: convenience to see locations

Cons: customer service, unnecessary stops in arhus and Warnmunde

Recommends Emerald Princess? No.

Service and Staff
Very weak. Staff appeared overworked and when not satisfied, all that they would do is offer an apology.
shows ok, bars closed at midnight (too early), wife mentioned that celebrity has much bigger productions.
Food and Dining
basic dining is average at best, premium dining exceeded expectations
Ship Quality
always book on a new ship. Newer ships travel faster, more time in port and offer better amenities.
Cabin / Stateroom
stateroom was fine, except no benefits (clubroom, free services, priority) for upgrading to bigger room - so extra space not worth the cost except outside view is key. Children were in rear of ship which vibrated violently when docking early in the morning.
