Really enjoyed starting in San Juan and ending in NOLA. We added day’s before and after yo make a really fantastic 11 day vacation. I would do a repositioning Cruise again in a heartbeat. The price could not be beat.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The San Juan Port is a basic warehouse. We had no issues. We only waited from customs entry to our boarding grouped being called about 30 minutes. You do not board the ship from deck 3 in PR. We were received on deck 4, you then take the stairs or elevator to deck 3 or wherever you are headed so it’s not quite as exciting but the cast members still introduce you and cheer.

Food and Dining

We had a great serving team (Joel & Lewelyn) for MDR. If I have one criticism it’s that our good (2nd Cruise) is always lukewarm. Due to that I rarely order any of the soups. Overall, our food was tasty.
We did both Palo dinner & brunch. Dinner was fabulous. I know brunch is more popular but we had an outstanding server, Slyvester, for both. He did a great job guiding us on menu and wine for dinner. I would always recommend doing both if you have the opportunity.
The Pirate night menu in my opinion was awful. No one in my family enjoyed in. The staff noticed. I explained I was disappointed as Animators Palette was only once in our rotation and due to Pirates we missed the regular menu. Our server arranged for the next night several bowls of the Black Truffle Pasta Pursettes be served to us at Tritons!
Onboard Activities

We were 10 adults on this trip. We participated in the following activities;
Bingo - 2 times, a cousin won $2500!
Lobster Ravioli Cookkng Class - fun & delicious.
Napkin Folding
Several Arts & Crafts; origami, ornament & Mardi Gras mask making
Several Trivia games
We did two tastings; Tequila/Margarita & Mixology, both in the Cadillac Lounge. Both well worth the $25.

Service and Staff

Exceptional service from MDR staff and Palo team. Our room attendant was fine but we did not engage much with him or have any special needs.
Ship Quality

Always spotless.
Cabin / Stateroom

Rooms 6562/6564 we were able to open up the veranda wall which was very nice. 6564/6566 connected inside. We were two adults in each room. 2622 was 4 adults. I feel 3 is the maximum for adults only in our style room. The queen bed feels bigger than normal. My mom and I shared with ample room between us and we are not skinny!
Ship tip
Do the Art of the Theme tour about the ship. Get up early for a sunrise. Watch the ship dock arrival & departure at least once. Take a late night stroll on all the decks when quiet to see all the art & architecture. Enjoy room service. While there is a laundry mat on several decks, use the service. It’s very affordable for ironing & washing.
We arrived on Thursday for a Sunday disembarkment. Did a baseball game and private tour. Loved both. Food, beaches, rain forest and people were all awesome.
We love NOLA so we stayed the weekend after disembarking on Friday morning. We are very familiar with the area so had a great time eating, listening to music, exploring. We took a tour of the city outside the FQ.
