Review summary

I cannot convey the deep disappointment our family experienced when this cruise was cancelled just 3 days before it was supposed to set sail.  It didn't matter to us that Disney refunded our money and offered a free cruise (if taken within a certian time frame).  We already had the time scheduled off from work, and planned to take our daughter out of school on a week where she would miss very little school days.  We would have been much more happier paying for the cruise we planned and going at the time we were scheduled for.

Both my husband and I have jobs that make it very difficult to take time off without a lot of notice and it's not easy to just "go to work" when we already cleared our schedules for the week.  That ended up translating to a week of work making virtually no money (because of the type of work we both do, we work by appointments, and we are usually booked out weeks in advance).

going on the first vogage is a gift and a curse. a curse because something schedule wise can change and you wont make it. and a gift because sometimes you get to go in a much nicer cruise because of their mistake in planning. this is true with all cruise lines not just Disney

They should let you know that "It's always risky sailing on maiden voyages or first sailings after dry dock" when you plan to book that week. Had we known, we would have picked another week just to avoid the possibility of going through what we ended up having to deal with.

It was canceled because it wasn't ready. It was the first sailing after an extensive dry dock. It's always risky sailing on maiden voyages or first sailings after dry dock. Sorry it didn't work out.
