Review summary

The Disney Ship "Magic" was an incredible experience. The entertainment and available activities were unbelievable: There just wasn't enough time each day to do everything we wanted to do because there were so many great choices. I don't know how that ship made any money (even though it was full) with all the people it had working on it and making sure our experience was marvelous. The only downsides we had: Travel arrangements by Disney weren't ideal (almost missed the boat); our cabin was on Deck 8, just below the main deck, so we heard chairs being set up early each morning; and don't be too picky about the dinner food (seafood is highly salted and salads can be wilted.)

As with a previous Carnival cruise, the seafood seems highly salted (I'm sensitive to salt, I guess) and salads could be wilted at times. Kids could order from either the adult or children's menus.

The shows were fantastic, as well as all other activities.

Felt very comfortable letting my 6, 9 and 10 year olds on the loose at times. All kids activities were superbly coordinated and staffed.

I wouldn't sleep on Deck 8 again (too noisy late at night and early in the morning).

Cabin / Stateroom

The Family Stateroom was great for a family of 5t (two bathrooms, both with sinks but a tub/shower in one and toilet in another. Just wish we had been on Deck 7.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

The beach trip was nice, although the locals were a bit aggressive about selling their wares and braiding hair.

Great bird show at the top of the tram ride! Submarine ride was fantastic too. Be prepared for a long,hot wait for the tram ride.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

Would love to do this place again. The Disney barbecue was declicious, and there was so much to do. The Stingray experience was awesome, as was parasailing.
