Vacation of a Lifetime by MRDRT2014

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was so much more than we thought it was going to be.  We can't wait to go cruising with Disney again!  There was something for our teenager, tween, and toddler every day.  I felt very comfortable leaving our boys in the youth programs and they had a blast!

Great Family Cruise by 2girls2cute

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is our 6th Disney Cruise.  My girls are 11 and 14 and still love it and much as they did years ago.  Disney does not compare to any other cruise line.  The employees go above and beyond to make your vacation exceptional!

cruise no 1 by ssvat21

Best experience ever. First cruise exceeded all expectations. Cold care was great gave me time to take of me without worrying about the children. They had so much to do that I didn't see them for hours with concern.

It's Magical! by drprados

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We cruised June 2014.  The ship exceeded all our expectations.  From the moment you arrived at port and the "baggage crew" met you, you knew this was DISNEY!  Our room was AFT deck 9, the ship never moved, it was smooth sailing and all 7 days the weather was perfect. This room was on the expensive side but an inside stateroom or one with a porthole (as long as it's on a higher deck) would have been fine.  We didn't make too much use of the balcony, except for our 1st morning, we enjoyed roomservice for breakfast.  The crew members are there to make sure that you have an unbelievable time.  They are ALL amazing and talented! Disney is all about DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS. You will find yourself taking pictures in the bathrooms, that's how beautiful they are.  All I have to say is you need to see it to believe it! The only negative aspect:  The pools are tiny for the amount of people on board. Elderly people or those with some sort of handicap will not be able to get into the pools, the steps/staircase are vertical and you have to be "physically" capable of going up and down. The only pool that has the broad steps is the one were the water goes below your knees and it's way too crowded.  As a result my mom was not able to enjoy the pools (adult area as well) which was a shame.  Except for the pools, all else was literally perfect.

You cannot go wrong with a Disney Cruise! Everything is top notch. From the cleaniness, friendliness, activities, food, accomodations etc. This was our 2nd one and we will definately be going many more times, with or without kids.

Love Disney! by tnsmitty

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

It is the special touches in customer service that make Disney special.  I have to say we have never cruised with any other line because we are afraid of being disappointed.  Our day in St. Thomas was very hot and humid.  When we returned to the ship they had a cart with cold wet hand towels to cool you off, and they had a station with 3 different kinds of water with fruit in them. Didn't see that at the other ships.  When going to our excursion that morning the lady from the boat told us to be sure and stay with her because we had to walk past another ship (people were milling around everywhere), and in her words, "they just aren't as organized as the Disney people."  Beautiful ship and great staff!

Excellent cruise,! by Stgeorgecruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Love disney cruise line, best service. The workers are all so personable. They made us feel like we were their only guests. They could of had more characters, the lines to meet them were very long. There is a ton of children on the ship so if you do not have kids you could get annoyed. The food is great, the activities on the shore were very pricey.

The BEST Cruise I have ever been on! by FanOfDisney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have been on several cruises in my life, but never have I experienced such an amazing trip than I had during our 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Disney Cruise.

Even with 13 family members on the cruise, we were able to keep everyone happy. People tend to opt out of Disney cruises because of the price, but I have to say that it was worth every penny! From the shows to the food, everything was absolutely wonderful!

While other cruise lines might be cheaper, they don't have all of the amenities that Disney has. (i.e., on board LIFEGUARDS, Castaway Cay, amazing shows, delicious food, onboard children's programs, etc...)

We are already excited about planning our next Disney cruise!

Expecting much more for price! by MrsCee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Very nice ship. Cabins were small, but plenty of storage. I especially liked under bed for luggage. Balconies were also very small. I didn't like Eastern Caribbean itinerary for children, St. Marteen & St. Thomas, as not many shore excursions foe young children. We did the beach on St. Marteen & Butterfly Garden on St. Thomas. The beaches are nice on St. Thomas but we were there many times. Castaway Cay the children loved, as did we. Lunch was great & the pirate ship play area in the water. Lifeguards & secure area in the water. Plenty of lounge chairs & umbrellas. All activities were cancelled on Castaway Cay due to wind. (Not very windy). We wanted a Cabana but they only have 20 & to get one you have to be a member of Castaway Cay, which is their club for numerous Disney cruises. They charge $549..

Back to the Fantasy. The pools were extremely small for a ship of that size. The kids were packed like sardines in the pools. Adult pool was small also. We did not use adult pool for that reason. They had  splash areas for small children. Children in swim diapers are not allowed in the pool.

I didn't care for the dining. You rotate dining in different restaurants with the same servers. Our servers were good. All the staff was great! Food was good. Cabanas, the buffet restaurant was ok. Always had to search for a table as it was crowded for breakfast & lunch. Nice variety of food. However one day a girl puked right in front of us & we called for help. I feel they should have closed that side of the restaurant immediately. She puked more than once. We are still sick. We got sick on our last morning & our still not symptom free. Norovirus. The other little food court type restaurants were not very good. They had Philly cheesesteaks, not good, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, bagged potato chips & a small bar for condiments for burgers, hot dogs & steak. They had pizza too. Nothing was very good & long lines.

I also didn't like the fact that you had times & locations for Characters, always lines. They should have been walking around the ship & in dining restaurants. Shows were ok. Movies were first run, but you had to pay for popcorn, $3.50.

Pirate night by the pools, which they closed the floor over the pools to fir more people, were completely packed with people. I couldn't stay as I felt like I couldn't breath with so many people.

My honest opinion not worth all the money Disney charges. We have cruised on Royal Caribbean many times, Holland,(not kid friendly) & Princess. All were good & much less expensive.

Time of my Life by DamnYankee66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Where to start....the ship is beautiful. This is the econd Disney cruise I have been on.  The first one was 10 years ago on the Wonder.  The Fantasy is twice as big, and twice as much fun. The shows are awesome.  I mised the first nights how (Wishes) but I caught every other show. As a specil treat we got to see Frozen in 3D in the main Walt Disney Theater. Great movie. The food was good, but not great, with the exception of Palo. Palo costs an extra $25 per person, but you MUST do the brunch.  Service is awesome and the food is incredibe. Plus it is adults only, so it is quiet.  And best of all you are not rushed. We sat for almost 2 hours and enjoyed every minute of it. The adult section of the ship (Europa) is located on the 4th deck aft and is made up of many different lounges. We checked out O'Gill's pub and Skyline lounge. Skyline is a martini bar, with a cool drink menu. Also, the scenery behind the bar changes every 15 minutes to a different city Skylne...very cool. I suggest the mixology class...it cost $15 and was worth every penny, as was the old world wine tasting (European wines).  The kids were never board and we never saw them except for dinner. My 15 and 14 yer olds were at the Vibe or somewhere else on the ship, and my 13 qnd 12 year olds were at The Edge or at the Aquaduck.  Highly recommend the Aquaduck.  The only bad part was our dinner servers.  They were not prompt and ewe were always rushed at the end of our meal, yet they had to brag about their excellent service. Plus they totally forgot my sons birthday even though they knew it was Dec 1.  Every other night tables were being sung to, and my son took notice.  On the last night one of his friends asked why Nick wasn't sung to. I guess we shamed them into it, becaue on the last night of the cruise he got his song....6 days late. The buffet....cabana's, was very good as well.....

Do this cruise if you can...

Disney Cruises are AMAZING by CruzOnlyDisney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall experience was great, however, way too many people.  We couldn't swim at anytime, it was always crowded and everyone wanted to do the samething you did.  I would recommend Disney Wonder, the smaller boat, much easier to move about and not so crowded.  My two small kids really had a wonderful time, all the time, so much to do and they wanted to be in the Oceaneers Club more this time around.  The best part of the cruise was Castaway Cay, totally clean beaches, clear waters, and all to ourselves.  Disney really takes care of you!

Family affair by 16members

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Disney Fantasy / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Had a great time. The service in the dining room was excellent. Our head waiter Alexa couldn't do enough for us.That was a big job because we had 16 family members, including 5 children who were at the dinner table every night. Also my wife and myself have shellfish/iodine allergies. Alexa went over the menu with us the night before and we felt confident that she    made sure there was no mistakes on our food preparation. Our Stewart (Ike)kept our stateroom spotless. The cleanliness of the ship as a whole was quite impressive. Our grandchildren had a wonderful and memorable cruise. The only problem on the cruise, that we encountered was the morning when we were leaving the ship. There was complete chaos, no direction , (because no staff members present)  with people cutting the line. It took us almost 2 hours to get off the boat and thru customs. Due do that extended amount of time to debark we almost missed our van ride to the airport. Hopefully, this problem will be investigated and rectified in the future. The Fantasy itself was quite impressive, due to its sheer size and great ride. Very seldom did we feel like we were on a ship. All the staff members that we encountered were polite and courteous.

Fantasy is Fantastic! by cruisersforlife

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

The Disney Fantasy is a beautiful ship to sail anywhere on!  The service was wonderful and there was always something to do aboard ship.  As with all Disney cruises, the experience was great fun for the whole family and we plan on many more cruises on all the Disney ships.

Disney Fantasy by RickS2013

It was a wonderful cruise! The service was excellent. The food was excellent. The entertainmet was excellent. The ship is absolutely beautiful. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We went without our children and there was plenty to do as an adult, traveling without children, on the ship. I think Disney does a wonderful job catering to passengers traveling with or without children. We would definetly take a Disney cruise again.

I've taken an Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and now this Disney Cruise, and hands down the Disney was my favorite.  They know how to do it right.  The service was outstanding, the ship was super clean, there was always something going on for everyone.  the security for the kids is unbelievable.  There was no question that they were safe, well looked after, and having fun.  I would do it again in a heart beat.

Disney Fantasy by alanmarcus

Generally good, but I found the breakfast poor, the waiters during the cruise were very good BUT on the last night and departing morning they changed as if they couldn't wait for us to leave the ship in fact getting off the ship was a bad experience for my family which left us with a low instead of a high very disappointed
