Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Being Concierge in a 1 bedroom suite we were able to order room service for any regular meal including breakfast, lunch or diner. You simply go to the concierge lounge where main dining room menus are available. Inform the concierge attendant of your selections and preferred dining time. Our meals were promptly delivered and set up at our chosen time. I will say the only draw back to this will be if you are extremely particular about how hot your meal is. Ours was just fine. We are not overly picky. That said the temperature of the food I am sure is a little less hot than if eaten int he mail dining room. That said, we totally enjoyed the privacy and the fact we could literally dine in our pj's for breakfast if we wanted. Disney does need to take a look at Carnival dining selections and consider a wider variety and improve quality of food selections outside the normal dining offerings. I will say the offerings on the Dream were improved since our sailing on the Magic last June. Palo's Diner and Brunch are over the top and a not to miss experience. We always enjoy both. Concierge lounge opened around 7am ans was available until 10pm. On embarkation you will be greeted with Mimosas and champagne. Every day at 5pm there is an open bar with cocktails/beer etc at no additional cost. OHHH and they have an expresso machine that will make the best coffee drinks on the ship. Again no extra charge.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Concierge guests have a large private area for sunbathing and relaxing. Sunscreen is provided along with towels, plenty of water, etc. Outside the concierge area is the Adults only area. A nice water feature is here, extra nice chairs, bar service, etc. Disney is the only cruise line where we have experienced staff actually monitoring the area to be sure younger than 18 guests are not utilizing the area. Honestly I wish the age limit was at least 21. Having said that, I have to say on Disney we have not experienced any problems with the current age limit. We did several Tastings. I have to say these were the best Tastings we have ever done. The young man who did these was tremendous. He did a great job not only educating the guests but provided recipes for the drinks we tasted. The night piano bar was nice. The other areas were very casual and enjoyable.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Stage shows EXCELLENT!! A not to be missed event everynight! Performers, stage props, you will not see this quality on any other cruise line.

Children's Programs

We never sail Disney with children. There are plenty of adult entertainment.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
You will be hard pressed to find a more lovely group of staff. The Concierge Staff pop up like little angels out of nowhere ready to make your day a little happier and more relaxing. They are amazing!! Disney can even provide you with a special pillow menu if you do not like the ones on your bed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
the ship layout is easy to navigate. And I have always felt Disney cleanliness is far above any other cruise line we have sailed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This is a one bedroom suite. 2 full size bathrooms, comfortable sitting furniture, and a dining room table. It was b/c we had a dining table we were able to orer full dining room meals to our stateroom.

Ship tip

Be prepared to be totally spoiled by the Concierge staff.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Great location to sail out of. We always fly in the day before we sail. There are several hotels near the port on Astronaut Blvd to stay. We fly into Orlando Intl., rent a car from Budget b/c Budget has a drop off location on Astronaut Blvd. The next day drop you car off at Budget. ANd the will shuttle you to the cruise terminal for free. If you have a car reserved with them for your return trip to the airport once you disembark call them to pick you up or simply Uber to the car rental location. Very easy to navigate.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Prefer to remain on the ship while everyone else is off.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

5 out of 5
If you are concierge you have the opportunity to request a much desired and sought after Cabana for your day on Castaway. If you can afford it.......just do it!!! You will have special transportation to the Cabana, your concierge team will come by and take drink orders. You will have a frig stocked with fresh fruit, water, sodas. Sunscreen is there as well as towels, a hammock, comfortable lounging furniture, ceiling fan, etc. You are right on the beach away from the crowd but close to restrooms, dining, etc. A perfect day!! You will not want to leave.

Disembarkation

Super easy. Being concierge we were escorted to a special elevator and disembarkation ramp. We walk on and off with our luggage.
