Disney Dream was DREAMY!

Sail Date: January 29, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

The ship was gorgeous, the crew was awesome and the food was delicious!! If I could change anything, I'd skip the day in the Bahamas and just stay two days at the gorgeous and private Disney Cay! A really WOW experience aboard the Disney Dream with our grown kids and grandkids! This was our 4th family Disney cruise (1st on the Dream) and it won't be our last!

Pros: Actually our ROOM LOCATION & BALCONY were incredible! Made all the difference in our cruise enjoyment!

Cons: The Disney show Celebrating Villians - so bad.

Recommends Disney Dream? Yes!

Ship Quality
Can't get cleaner than Disney! Everything sparkles all the time!
Food and Dining
Request CARLOS (from Honduras) as your Server! He was AWESOME!
Cabin / Stateroom
Our balcony was an awesome plus. Our stateroom host "Brian" was great!
Service and Staff
Staff is super in the restaurants - no matter which one you eat your meals!
Entertainment
If I had a complaint it would be about the characters. They just don't spend enough time with a boat that size visitiing with the kids. So many kids and photo ops are so short. I think they should have characters 24/7 FORWARD and AFT with more opportunities. Twice our grandson was told when it was his turn to meet Goofy and Mickey that SORRY...they had to go! This is devastating for a 2 1/2 year old who has been in line for 45 minutes or more waiting his turn. "(
Children's Programs
INCREDIBLE & AMAZING...two comments though....combining children in age groups 3-10 is just crazy... This is three age groups that should have their own play areas: 8-10 def should be separated areas, 3&4 separated, and 5-7 separated. Also in the age group 11&up they release the kids late at night without their parents. I am over 50 and get lost on that ship. Every night we were running into Lost children wandering the ship afraid and not knowing where they were. Not a good policy even if the stupid parents say its ok for them to be released at 11-13 just too young.
