Just wanted to voice my opinion on the previous review. we just returned from this very cruise and found none of the non-sense the previous reviewer mentioned.

This was our 10th cruise, 5th on Princess. It is my experience that miserable, negative people can generally find the negative in anything or anyone and I don't think anything would have made this traveler happy. The sewage thing sounds nasty, but I wonder what they may have put down their toilet? Only toilet tissue and human waste should be deposited in the ships toiletes for this very reason, remember this is a boat after all that you are sailing on!

Considering the Pizzeria onboard does not even serve lasagna I question the other information quoted in the review.

The ship is beautiful, the staff friendly, and the itinerary was both interesting and beautiful.

As far as the Norovirus that the previous reviewer mentioned, guess what every cruise, in every cruise line since the beginning of time has had some norovirus cases. This is caused by careless and shameful travelers that do not wash their hands regularly. Although it seems like common sense to wash your hands after using the restroom I am always disgusted to see people leave the restroom without doing this simple step to stop the spread of disease. Or some who think running their hand under water is enough! Guess what that soap is for?

Pros: Beautiful Ship

Cons: A little cold leaving out of San Francisco, but a great city non-the-less

Recommends Dawn Princess? Yes!

Ship Quality
Very good shape
Food and Dining
Main dining room food was excellent. Horizon Court (buffet) was ok. Breakfast selection was a bit weak, but their is an omelette station that will cook any eggs to order which was nice.
Cabin / Stateroom
Nice comfortable bedding. The staterooms are a bit smaller on this class of ship, but adequate with adequate closet space even for the 11 night journey
Service and Staff
Friendly staff. The head waiter seemed a bit rude the first night since we requested a table for 2, but he then explained the the anytime dining restaurant only has 5 tables for 2. A shame that Princess has not changed this since changing to anytime dining. With that said however, the head waiter told us it was only difficult for them at 7 and anytime after 7:30 would be easier to accomodate. This made sense to us and when we would normally eat anyway so this wasn't a problem. If you do want to eat earlier however, just make a reservation that morning.
Varied entertainment, good production shows.
