Great escape from the cold!

Room Type: Balcony

This was our honeymoon/first anniversary trip, 7 days on our first cruise in the carribean! Overall we had fun after we got used to cruising. The ship was very impressive and classy, our balcony room on riviera (deck 14) was awesome. The first night looked like a hurrican was going to hit, winds were very high and I slept like a baby rocked to sleep. The wife...not so much. We got to the bahamas.... too windy, so we can say we saw the bahamas....

Our only complaint was that we, in our 30's, were among the few younger people on the ship. Lots and lots of white hair, and the activities were mostly geared towards that generation. Lots of 50's trivia, etc. The wife went to see a screening of sex and the city and thought most of the crows was going to walk out shocked. But again, a very small complaint. We will probably try another line to see if the activities fit us more.

Pros: Ship was great, food excellent, Grand Turk!

Cons: entertainment on ship, average age on ship (a little on the white-hair side)

Recommends Crown Princess? Yes!

Ship Quality
No complaints about the ship. Great shape, very clean, HUGE! The extra day at sea gave us plenty of time to wander around.
Food and Dining
We were not sure about the food going into this. Yes there was food everywhere. No, we didn't gain ten pounds (I was the one asked to go to the buffet at 2am to get brownies)

The dining room was the best at dinner, anytime dining we never had a wait over 5 minutes, and there were always plenty to choose from. I had some great meals there. The desserts could've been better, and the rolls were rock hard :)

The buffet was OK, nothing spectacular... we found the grill on the last day, very good hot dogs!
Cabin / Stateroom
we had a standard balcony cabin, plenty of room for the two of us, and great views from the balcony.
only downside was here. Daytime activities geared towards older people. Nightime stuff was very busy (early show) or almost empty (later shows). Movies under the stars was GREAT
Service and Staff
our cabin steward, Freddy, was wonderful! My wife wanted to take him home..... we met lots of great staff throughout the week.
