MY HUSBAND AND I SAILED ON THE CROWN PRINCESS 5/30/07 OUT OF BROOKLYN. WE LIVE ABOUT 45 MINUTES FROM THE PIER. WE ARE IN OUR 60'S, VERY ACTIVE. WE HAD A BB CATEGORY ON THE CARIBE DECK. THIS WAS OUR 20TH CRUISE AND WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH PRINCESS. WE CHOSE THIS SHIP BECAUSE OF THE PORTS OF CALL AND THAT WE COULD DRIVE TO THE PIER. THE WEATHER WAS VERY HOT AND THE SEAS WERE CALM. THAT PART OF THE CRUISE WAS GREAT.

BERMUDA WAS WONDERFUL. TURKS AND CAICOS VERY LIMITED SHOPPING. BEACH RIGHT OFF THE PIER. ST. THOMAS HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE. SAN JUAN WAS HOT,HOT. WENT TO CASINO ACROSS FROM THE PIER. THE LAYOUT OF THE SHIP IS CONFUSING. THE COMMON AREAS ARE VERY NARROW. WHEN YOU COME OFF THE ELEVATORS AND IT LIKE GETTING OFF A TRAIN IN NYC DURING RUSH HOUR. SHIP ALWAYS SEEMED CROWDED. MANY CONGESTED AREAS. PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS HAD TROUBLE GETTING AROUND.

MOST LIKELY WE WILL NOT CRUISE PRINCESS AGAIN, AND WILL CRUISE WITH RCCL IN THE FALL.

Pros: THE SHIP IS CLEAN AND ENOUGH STORAGE SPACE IN CABIN FOR 2 PEOPLE.

Cons: THE FOOD IN THE DINING ROOM WAS TERRIBLE. MOST OF THE CRUISE THE FOOD WAS COLD AND NOT PRESENTED WELL. WHETHER YOU HAD COFFEE OR TEA, IT WAS ALWAYS COLD. NOT A GOOD SELECTION ON DESSERTS

Recommends Crown Princess? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
THE CABIN WAS MUCH SMALLER THAT WE HAD ANTICIPATED. WE HAD A BB CATEGORY ON THE CARIBE DECK. WE CHOSE THE AFT CABINS DUE TO ACCESSIBILITY TO ELEVATORS AND POOL AREA, BUFFET, DINING ROOM AND SHOPS.
Service and Staff
THE STAFF DID NOT SEEM AS FRIENDLY AS WE ENCOUNTERED ON RCCL AND CELEBRITY. OUR WAITERS IN THE DINING ROOM WERE GOOD. THE HEAD WAITER WAS ALSO VERY GOOD. CABIN STEWARD SEEMED TO BE TIRED ALL THE TIME.
Entertainment
THE PRODUCTION SHOWS WERE TERRIBLE, COMEDY WAS GOOD. KIMIKA WAS VERY GOOD
Ship Quality
THE CABIN WAS CLEAN, AS WERE THE PUBLIC AREAS. THE DECOR WAS TOO DARK AND DEPRESSING IN MOST OF THE LOUNGES. THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH SPACE FOR WHEELCHAIRS ON THE ELEVATORS OR CORRIDORS. HALLWAYS WERE VERY NARROW. THE SHIP SWAYS SIDE TO SIDE MOST OF THE TIME.
Food and Dining
THE FOOD WAS TOO SALTY, NOT HOT, PRESENTED POORLY. NOT MUCH OF A SELECTION. NOT ENOUGHT WINDOWS IN THE DINING ROOM. DARK IN MOST OF DINING AREA. WE LIKE TO LOOK OUT AND SEE THE SUNSET WHILE WE ARE DINING.
