Great cruise

Sail Date: April 21, 2007

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The ship, the Crown Princess, was beautiful. Very large and spread out. It was a little difficult to negotiate and find our way around, but we got used to it after a few days. This was our 4th cruise overall, so we had some idea of the layout of most ships. Everything was so clean, the pool areas were great. We are not late night people and felt the entertainment choices were offered too late for us. Other entertainment options were over the dinner time. The food was average, even in the dining room. But the speciality restaurant was excellent with exceptional service. We just stopped in without a reservation and they did everything they could to accommodate us. The route that we took was fabulous and we saw so many islands, all with the luxury of the cruise ship to make it easy. This is a cruise that is highly recommended.

Pros: This ship and the route

Cons: The food and entertainment

Recommends Crown Princess? Yes!

The entertainment we saw was average. One comedian was excellent. The rest did not inspire us.
Food and Dining
We had anytime dining. Went to the dining room 2 times and the rest was buffet except one speciality restaurant. The food was average in all areas except the speciality restaurant which was excellent.
Cabin / Stateroom
The usual small cabin, but comfortable. Shower very small. Nice balcony that did not have anyone looking at us from above.
Ship Quality
Service and Staff
Very friendly staff. The casino manager was excellent in handling a concern we had. He was very professional with excellent customer service.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
We went snorkeling at Shipwreck Cove and had a great time. The tour guides were great and made our snorkeling adventure a great time.
St. John's, Antigua
We did some shopping. The taxi drivers approaching us constantly made us go back on board the ship.
Bridgetown, Barbados
We went to Malibu Beach and toured the rum factory. This was a nice shore excursion, but there needed to be more time at the beach.
Castries, St. Lucia
We just did some shopping just off of the ship. We had seen this island before.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
We had a small tour of the island on the way to Maagens Bay. The tour was great, but Maagens Bay was a disappointment. For being rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world, it was not what was expected. I have seen more beautiful beaches on St. Thomas and other islands. Shopping was closed on the day we were there for their Carnival.
