Review summary

The Costa cruise line's Mediterranea was a very well kept ship, although I preferred the Costa Magica which we sailed on in Feb 06. It was quite a bit bigger. Cabins were spotless. The lounges/bars were varied and intimate. The decor was amazing. We would like to have had more shoppes aboard. The one and only ADULT ONLY pool was at times occupied with children even though there were other pools for families and kids only. This was an aggravation. The pool attendant and security person were quick to ask parents to move to another pool, but parents were very slow to comply and only did so with resistance.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Unfortunatley our late seating was changed to 9 pm.after the first night. THis was too late for us.

Entertainment

Disembarkation process for excursions was too slow.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

Snorkelling was unremarkable. We just walked out from the beach and not taken to a reef. The town was fun though. Good shops, friendly people and good prices for jewellery.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Our itinerary listed Ochos Rios, not Montego Bay as our destination. We were not aware that a change had been made, as we wanted to visit Ochos Rios. Also we had booked an expensive excursion in Ochos Rios. Instead of a refund the excursion(snorkelling) took place in Montego Bay and was inadequate....for $71.USD p/p.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Snorkelling was better than Montego Bay but our excursion was not worth the money. Food provided was poor.

Pros: clean ship, lovely staff, good food

Cons: line ups from arrival in West Palm Beach to boarding were unacceptable
