Review summary

The cruise line is great for Italian speaking guests. English is a second language. Service is slow and crew barely helps English speaking guests. They seem to prefer to speak only Italian. Be prepared to hear all instructions over the PA system in at least 4 languages. The music in other than the shows (playing in the ship and restaurants)is all primarily in Italian. The guest services in billing will tell you your account is OK then as you disembark they suddenly discover a problem. The staff in the spa are probably the rudest people on board! European Guests are atleast 80-90% of the guests. They are extremely rude toward english speaking guests. No manners. they push and shove each other. I will never cruise this line again!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The dining room is poorly understaffed. They don't give you water with your meal. You have to ask 2-3 times for water. If you are not buying a 4 dollar can of soda you get nothing to drink. The dining room staff was rude if you asked for anything non alcoholic. They seemed like you were asking for too much.

Entertainment

All was good except the final night they had a great "toga night". This is great fun. Just don't decide to have a big give-away raffle at the "guest talent show" and schedule it for 11pm on the final night of the cruise. We have to be off the ship by 8am the next day! Who Thinks of this stuff???

Service and Staff

The crew helps if you speak the Italian language they are warm and friendly. If you speak English they act like you are from Mars. They have no problem telling you when your credit card didn't work or you have a problem with your account on the morning you are leaving. I told them my girlfriend might have a problem with her card 36hrs prior to departure and offered several solutions. They told us no problem the account was fine. We knew it wasn't and kept trying to get them to listen and they refused saying we had no problem. The morning we were leaving on an excursion taking us back to the airport They suddenly saw the account was a problem. They put us in a room with about 100 other people some of who were told they had "no problem" too and until I made a scene did they suddenly let me put the whole thing on my account which I tried to do 2 days earlier. Another guest was waiting 1hr at a table because he wasn't carrying his bank account numbers on a cruise and they needed them.

Other cruise lines do the whole towel animal thing. Not this one! they clean up just good enough but yes they do a good job nothing over and above here.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

7 mile beach is great! Beautiful!!! Be wary of the Taxi drivers and their pricing. 4 bucks each way is plenty. Don't let them lie to you about having to pay to get on the Free Beach.
Don't Miss: 7 mile beach

Grand Turk Island

Do Margaritaville's swim up Bar but beware of the high drink prices. you pay for the Bar. It's awesome even at those prices!! We parked right at the beach and you can shop and beach it all within 100ft of the ship!
Don't Miss: Everything at this Port!!

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Dirty port in Ocho Rios. The Horseback riding in the surf can not be beat!!
Don't Miss: Horseback riding and swim!!!!

Cozumel, Mexico

The Dolphin Touch encounter was great! Over priced at 100 bucks a head but great none the less.

Pros: Clean ship! that is it!

Cons: Costa is for Non-English speaking, Service was barely good enough!

Recommends Costa Fortuna? No.
