We read a review before we went that this, beacuse it is not a US cruise ship, would be below our expectations. We found this to be not true. The ship was clean and efficient, the ports were fabulous, the staff was incredibly efficient, the food was very good and plentiful, and the experiecne was outstanding. The entertainment was a little below what we have experienced for the shows but trying to do something that 8 languages can appreciate is tough. There is a specialist on board for all English speakers and that helped a great deal but we had no trouble what so ever. We would chose this ship again if it had the ports we wanted. Of a ship of about 5,000 passengers we estimate only about 40 from US but many more spoke English from other countries - maybe 200 but this was not a problem. Would be happy to discuss via email if you have any questions

Pros: The service and food were outstanding

Cons: Europeans smoke more but it was mostly avaoidable

Recommends Costa Concordia (RETIRED)? Yes!
