My favorite item I brought was magnetic hooks, I wish I brought more! All of the walls are magnetic, so the hooks came in handy. We placed the hooks near the door and used them for our lanyards containing our cruise cards, hats and mini binoculars. Get a glow in the dark wall clock and hot glue some magnets to it. There's no clocks in the cabin. Make sure if you leave out of San Francisco in the afternoon, you go onto the back of the ship to take pics of the Golden Gate. If your on the bow on the ship you'll be taking pics directly into the sun. Don't forget to pack a huge water bottle that you can refill with ice and water when your at the buffet. I also dragged my water bottle with me on every excursion.

Unless the itinerary was exceptional, as was the case of this cruise, I would not sail on the Coral Princess again.

If you are doing the Alaska cruise, go from Vancouver to Whitter and get a balcony. You wont regret spending the extra money for the balcony and everyday, the beautiful sights get better every day!!

Be ready to walk back and forth from one end to the other. Shows are at each end. Movies Under the Stars is pretty nice. Especially after they worked on the screen. It had several LED's out.

If I were sailing to the Panama Canal again, I might splurge on a balcony cabin to watch the passage through the locks. We are hardly ever in our cabins and usually book an interior.

The only regret I had was not booking an excursion when we came back to port. When I decided to do this, they were already fully booked.

All entertainment and visitors who were invited to entertain were wonderful - very much enjoyed all shows and lounge areas where music, dancing and singing were available throughout the ship.

There were laundry rooms at the end of deck and well used. If you have to laundry on board, do it on a port day since they were most used on sea days. If the laundry room on your level is busy, try one on a level that shares staterooms with the atrium. Less rooms on a level equals less use in the laundry room. We were on deck 9 but used the laundry room on deck 5.

Do NOT opt for “Anytime Dining.” If you do select this option consider the buffet as a viable alternative

As with any cruise - be open-minded and patient with groups and crowds. It is a big ship, but still an enclosed space with 2,000 people, so be prepared to either wait or go do something else. The fact that there are so many eating choices speaks to this. If you don't want to wait to eat, go to the buffet ! The food there was awesome and the view is great.
