Review summary

The ship was terrific and the staff excellent. The ship staff shopping tips were a bonus and helped save many dollars on jewelry shopping. The port stops of Cozemul and Limon (Mexico and Costa Rica) were not pleasant and will not go back on shore in the future there. Grand Cayman and Panama were excellent. The Panama locks were amazing. Jamaica was nice and good shopping but severe poverty on the inland part of the island.

Ports of call

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Good shopping and nice people ("no problem" local saying, but they do have "issues!"). Pretty island but the interior near the rain forest has very poor people which made me sad to see such disparity in the coast and interior living conditions.
Don't Miss: The rain forest tour where you get hooked up to a harness and fly from tree to tree.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Looked like it was great maybe 20 years ago. Facilities in disrepair and sad. Heavy on people begging for tips. Shopping right off the port had a few good buys on leather items.

Paid for a tour of the Tulum ruins. Ended up being a two hour tour with a 1 hour bus stop for bathroom break. This stop was actually a ploy to get you to buy stuff from them and they even backed the buses up so you could not get back on until they pulled back to the building. Very tacky.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Considering they had 6 feet of water over the island during Hurricane Ivan I was amazed. Beautiful, great shopping, and super nice people.
Don't Miss: Butterfly farm.

Cristobal, Panama

Interesting local items for sale. Some kitchy, but others very nice. Super friendly people. Don't miss going through the Panama locks if possible. That was an amazing trip.
Don't Miss: Pamama Locks
