...not my favorite Celebrity cruise.

Sail Date: April 01, 2014

Room Type: Balcony

I have had many extremely enjoyable cruises with Celebrity overall\, but the Summit was the oldest/smallest ship in their fleet that I've personally been on... and it showed. Stuck by a vacation window and intinerary we liked\, we ended up on the Summit. The service was up to the usual Celebrity high standards\, but the overall ship was lacking. Further\, the planned activites on-board\, especially for our sea-day\, were very underwhelming. There was almost nothing to do for the non-gamblers in our group. Celebrity still remains my cruise line of choice\, but I would avoid the Summit.

Pros: main dining staff; intinerary/ports-of-call; comedian (Rondell Sheridan)\, QSine specialty restaurant

Cons: stage shows; ship quality; dirty/run-down common areas; theater wait staff

Recommends Celebrity Summit? No.

The only saving grace was Rondell Sheridan (2 shows). Celebrity should book him as often as possible. Stage shows by singers/dancers were poor and lacking in quality... almost laughable. On-board activites were lacking in variety and fun. Sea-day was a dissapointment. Need to re-evaluate the Summit cruise activity staff.
Service and Staff
Generally good/friendly service save for the Main Theater wait staff. They were rude\, slow\, and couldn't be bothered to help in any situation.
Cabin / Stateroom
Stateroom was clean\, but showed signs of age.
Food and Dining
Main dining food quality and staff were excellent as usual. QSine specialty restaurant was exceptional. Buffet dining was below average for a Celebrity cruise...poor layout in Oceanview Cafe.
Ship Quality
Old ship... odd elevator layout.
