First & Last Cruise in 25 years

Sail Date: July 01, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

Was on cruise with my 10 year old daughter shortly after the death of my wife..Intial impression of the ship was good. The Ocean View room was nice and met our needs. We were not given a choice of dinner seating time and the assigned 8:30 time was too late. Daughter was falling asleep in her food. Dinners rarely served to both of us at same time. Food was good but not enjoyable when it takes so long to come out. . Internet access was expensive and spotty- extremely slow downloading. Was working remotely on the ship and the slow connection did not enable the use of my remote data access application so was a waste of money. Cruise booked 6 weeks in advance and price dropped by almost $1000 within a few weeks of the sailing.

Pros: Smaller Ship-Less Crowded

Cons: Overpriced Excursions & Ship Photography

Recommends Celebrity Summit? Yes!

Ship Quality
Ship size not too large, just right. Clean, well maintained. Elevators were well placed in ship. Restaurants were in abundance throughout the ship.
Food and Dining
Overall, food quality was good. Dining room portions were rather small.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our Ocean View Stateroom was clean, and nicely appointed. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was squeaky clean.
Service and Staff
Staff from over 26 Countries was friendly and accommodating. Most were trying extremely hard to satisfy all our needs.
Good variety of activities and entertainment on the ship.
Children's Programs
The Fun Factory provided age appropriate activities for children by age group. Available days and evenings as needed.
