A great way to spend our vacation

Sail Date: July 01, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Inside

Overall, ship was clean and modern and easy to get around. Staterooms were tiny, but you get what you pay for. Dinner and service in the main dining room were excellent

Pros: Food/dinner and special music groups that played in the lounges

Cons: Wish there were more chairs outside on lower decks

Recommends Celebrity Summit? Yes!

We liked the informative sessions (whether on food, nutrition, ship engineering, etc.) and the lounge acts. The main production company but on one show called Sirens that I would encourage you to skip (unless you are a 10 year old girl, and then it'd be perfect). Otherwise, all the main theater shows were great. Lounge entertainers were our favorites.
Children's Programs
The fun club were small rooms. My 10 year old basically went on scavenger hunts, watched movies, or played Wii during our at sea days in the Fun Club. My 13 year old wouldn't go to the teen club because it was mostly sport activities during the day (basketball, ping pong, etc.)
I thought they'd have more exciting events/activities for the kids.
Ship Quality
Food and Dining
We only ate in the main dining room for dinner and the Oceanview for lunch/breakfast. Dining room food and service was excellent, although the menu was not as diverse as I remember from past cruises (15 years ago). Oceanview was frequently crowded and at times it was hard to get plates and food in a reasonable period of time.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were in a standard inside stateroom on the lowest level - it was tiny for 3 people, but that's what we paid for. It was always clean and well layed out.
Service and Staff
Always helpful. Sometimes the friendliness was overwhelming, but it was a nice change to daily life.
