Review SummaryWe would rate this a very nice Cruise ship for those who like the medium sized ships. Unlike the larger ships, this ship is easier to find your way around on. Additionally, it is very well maintained and the staff are excellent. Contrary to some reviews we read, we found the food to be very good and the specialty restaurant Normandie to be an excellent upscal restaurant to enjoy for a premium dining experience. The Spa facilities were nice and offered a wide variety of services at moderate pricing. We found the adult salt pool to be refreshing and enjoyable. The staff monitored closely and children under 16 were not allowed to use.
The iteniary is quite busy with several stops at various islands. Sometimes it can be quite tiring to try and experience each island thoroughly. Additionally, shore exturisions can make an otherwise affordable trip quite expensive fi one chooses to participate at each stop.
What we found exceptional was the great onboard ship entertainment. We were very impressed with the quality and variety of the entertainment. Additionally, our room steward was the best we have ever had on any Cruise Ship. He was excellent in every way
Our recommendation would be to try and not to do so much at each stop and maybe jsut take an island tour from a local taxi oeprator that knows the island, this worked well for us.
In conclusion, I would give Celebrity high marks! This was our first trip with them and we would travel with Celebrity again. We traveled during a Holiday time and saw a wide variety of ages and families from a wide range of nationalities.Being out of the port of San Juan, many of the passengers were form the San juan area.
Pros: Service and friendliness from the on board staff was excellent. In addition, the entertainment was excellent. We found the food to be quite good and would rate above average
Cons: Cruise lines have cut back on hours food is served to conserve cost and keep prices reasonable. food options are not as wide and varied as in the past. However, you must plan accordingly.
