Review SummaryThe Celebrity Summit offers a relaxing but upbeat cruise experience. There is plenty to do aboard from wine tastings to computer classes. The Fitness Center is well equipped and is within the Spa area. Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates were offered at a small cost.
Best for us was the area for the Thalassotherapy pool and jacuzzis. Reserved for those over age 16, it is a solarium with deck chairs and tables where passengers can dine on "Spa food" from the small health food cafe. It all felt very exclusive but not pretentious.
Our balcony state room was ample in size with a bathroom in which you could actually close the door and turn around and had plenty of water pressure for the shower. We were in concierge class which included a complimentary bottle of champagne, hors d'oerves daily, fresh flowers, fluffy robes and a gift of a heavy duty tote bag.
The food in all the restaurants was abundant and excellent in variety and quality. The main dining room staff offered effecient and engaging service and even though very busy, never made us wait for anything. The Normandie fine dining restaurant offered superb service, warmth and excellent food preparation and presentation. There was a charge of $35 per person for this special experience and worthy of our 30th anniversary.
Best of all was the extra effort the whole staff made to make everyone feel cared for and special. The ship was spotless and cleaning and straightening were in evidence everywhere and ongoing all over the ship. Our steward was always accessible but never intrusive and did his job with discreet efficiency.
We would sail with Celebrity again since we had a similar exellent experience aboard the Constellation 5 years ago.
