Nice cruise

Sail Date: October 18, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

The ship wasn't as fancy as some I have seen in the catalogs, but was well laid out and our room was in a nice place. We had a nice time and enjoyed sampling new countries....

Pros: Seeing new countries

Cons: Seemed like we were nickel and dimed. Lots of extra charges. Some food issues.

Recommends Celebrity Summit? Yes!

Food and Dining
The first week was a little unorganized as we learned later that there had been an outbreak of something on the prior cruise and we had to wait for waiters to serve us everything. We couldn't even get our own coffee. There were big lines for the breakfast buffet as people were trying to hurry and go on early morning excursions, etc. It did get better the second week as they relaxed the rules and we could get things on our own. We heard lots of complaining from other pasengers. After two weeks, the food was getting a little repetitious. Orange juice tasted like water. Buffet lines seemed to go both directions and didn't have a good flow. Overall, it was a nice cruise but did have some issues.
Enjoyed some of the entertainment more than others, but overall it was good
Ship Quality
Not as fancy as some but layout was okay and things were clean, etc.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had an inside stateroom with a King bed. Overall it was very nice.
Service and Staff
Staff was very pleasant.
Piraeus (Athens), Greece
Dubrovnik, Croatia
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
Lots to see in a day but okay.....Our guide seemed to want to talk more than let us see the sights, stop for pictures, etc. Trevi fountain was closed for cleaning which was disappointing....
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Naples, Italy
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
Went to the Tuscany area and loved it.
Venice, Italy

Don't Miss: Gondola rides
